The past October was a busy but also joyful time for Ms. Tran Thi Hung, Tuong 1 village, Hop Thanh commune.

Not only preparing for the unique cultural activities participating in the Hop Thanh Com Festival in 2025; activities to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20), Ms. Hung and the women's association members are also the leaders and inspirations of the experiential education program for students with the theme "From young rice to fragrant com - Tay cultural journey in Hop Thanh" organized by the Provincial Museum in coordination with other units.
Busy with the common work of the village and commune, but it seems that Ms. Hung's energy and enthusiasm never fade.
As long as I am healthy and have the trust and love of the people, I will continue to contribute to the development of the village and commune, helping to preserve the cultural identity of the Tay ethnic group.
Ms. Tran Thi Hung has been the Head of Tuong 1 Village for nearly 20 years. In a village with a large ethnic minority population, she is considered a "rare, hard-to-find" case, because she is not only the first female village head but also the longest-serving village head.
In addition, she has more than 10 years of experience as the Head of the Women's Union; Head of the Farmers' Union, and a delegate to the People's Council of Hop Thanh commune for 3 terms. In particular, she is the one who has passed on and kept the fire of the Tay ethnic cultural identity club in Hop Thanh commune for more than ten years.

Overcoming gender prejudices and overcoming many challenges during many years of shouldering the responsibility, Ms. Hung has never thought of giving up.
Ms. Hung hopes that, from her story, more and more Tay women will rise up, not only to be the "fire keepers" in each family but also to be positive factors, contributing to the development of the community and homeland.
At Vach Residential Group, Cam Duong Ward, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh is loved and admired by everyone for her enthusiasm, her ability to excel in economic development, and especially her care and help for women members.

As a native of Phu Tho who came here as a daughter-in-law, Ms. Binh gradually adapted to her new life. Realizing that traditional dishes of the villagers, such as Chinese sausages and smoked meat, could be turned into commodities, she began to learn from the people and try to make them herself.
From small-scale household production, initially selling only to relatives and friends, later, when participating in training courses organized by the Women's Union, she boldly invested to become the owner of a household producing dried meat products in 2023.
Normally, Ms. Binh's facility maintains 2 regular workers. During the Tet holiday, when the kitchens are in full swing to serve customers, she hires about 5-6 more workers. What's special is that she always cares about and creates conditions for women in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances to have more income.

Now, Ms. Binh is still making efforts every day on the journey of building a brand for the product, with the goal of being recognized as an OCOP product in the near future.
I hope that as the production facility grows, I will have more conditions to help women reduce difficulties in life.
These are just two of many examples and stories demonstrating the effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements by Lao Cai women, focusing on the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era", contributing to building the great national unity bloc over the past time.
The emulation movement “Building Vietnamese women of the new era” was launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union to arouse pride in the fine traditions of Vietnamese women, aiming to build the image of women of the new era with four core criteria: Having knowledge – Having morality – Having health – Having responsibility for themselves, family, society and country. This is both a training goal and a measure of value, an orientation for the comprehensive striving process of women in the new era.

The Provincial Women's Union has concretized the movement with many proactive and creative solutions, suitable to the reality of each region and each target group; at the same time closely linked with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", the movement "Lao Cai women promote cultural identity, humanity and affection".
Thanks to the flexible organization, close adherence to reality and promoting the proactive role of the grassroots, the movement has gone into depth, spreading strongly from cadres to members, from agencies, units to residential communities. From the movement, nearly 5,000 collectives and individuals have been recognized and honored.

In building the image of "knowledgeable" women of the new era, ethnic women in the province have constantly strived to improve their qualifications, actively studying, affirming their pioneering role in innovation and creativity.
The union levels have coordinated to open literacy classes and popularize digital education, helping thousands of women, especially ethnic minority women, have more opportunities to read, write, use smartphones, and access information and online public services. 100% of union bases participate in the community digital transformation team.

In addition, the Women's Union at all levels has also accompanied and supported women to master scientific and technological knowledge, promote creativity in labor, production and start-up. As a result, it has supported the establishment of 42 new cooperatives with women participating in management and 22 enterprises owned by women; coordinated training, vocational training, and job creation for over 9,700 members. The Provincial Women's Union alone has supported nearly 1,600 livelihood models for poor women members to develop the economy, with a total value of over 12 billion VND.
In the field of scientific research, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole province has 128 provincial-level initiatives chaired by women that are recognized, 23 scientific topics chaired by female cadres are accepted, many products have high applicability in many areas of social life.

Along with improving knowledge, Lao Cai women especially attach importance to training the moral qualities of "Confidence - Self-respect - Loyalty - Responsibility". The association at all levels has proactively integrated the content of training ethics and cultural lifestyle into the activities of branches and groups; launched many models and clubs rich in humanity, such as: "Happy family", "Giving love - multiplying happiness", "Civilized household groups"... for members to practice, share, help each other progress, and spread good values in the community.
Gratitude, humanitarian, charitable and social security activities are maintained regularly by all levels of the association, associated with large programs with wide-reaching effects, such as: "Accompanying women in the border areas"; "Godmother" connecting and supporting 652 orphans; supporting the renovation and repair of 308 "Shelters of Love".
Activities to visit, encourage, and give gifts to members and women in difficult circumstances; support officers, soldiers, and new recruits on their way to military service, especially helping households overcome the consequences of natural disasters and fires are always promptly implemented, with a total mobilized resource of over 39 billion VND.

The cultural, artistic and sports movement has spread widely, with 1,650 clubs operating regularly, attracting tens of thousands of female members.
In addition, women's union members across the province have contributed to the implementation of over 2,600 projects and tasks, helping nearly 8,000 households achieve the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean"; and implementing over 200 "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" and "Flower Road" routes. Women's union members and officials actively set an example in their work, pioneered in action, proactively participated in building the Party, government, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, contributing to consolidating a strong political system from the grassroots.

Entering a new development stage, the Provincial Women's Union continues to widely launch the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" with the criteria: "Patriotism - Self-reliance - Courage - Humanity - Intelligence - Creativity - Responsibility - Destiny - Green"; closely linking the implementation of the Union's emulation movement with the political tasks of the province and the patriotic emulation movement launched by the Central and local levels. Thereby, contributing to building the image of Lao Cai women in the new era, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lao Cai province, term 2025 - 2030.
