Building national standard schools for the goal of educational innovation

From the policy of building a school that meets national standards, the campus of Quang Thanh Primary School, Quang Phu Ward was built spacious, clean and beautiful.

After being established on the basis of merging the natural area and population size of 7 wards: Quang Hung, Quang Tam, Quang Thanh, Quang Dong, Quang Thinh, Quang Cat and Quang Phu, Quang Phu ward has 29 schools at all levels, including 22 public schools and 7 private schools. According to the Head of the Department of Culture and Society of the ward, Le Thanh Dong, currently 22/22 public schools at all levels in the ward have achieved national standards. This is one of the important premises contributing to improving the quality of education, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training (GD&DT).

Since the end of 2022, Quang Tam Primary School, Quang Phu Ward has been recognized as having achieved level 3 educational quality accreditation and has been recognized as having achieved level 2 national standards according to the new criteria. Up to now, the school's criteria for achieving level 2 national standards have been effectively maintained by the school. In particular, since being recognized as a standard, the school's educational activities have been constantly promoted, the infrastructure has been gradually enhanced; teaching and learning activities have been implemented flexibly and innovatively according to the orientation of developing students' capacity.

According to teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh, Principal of Quang Tam Primary School, building a school that meets national standards is a major strategic policy of the Education and Training sector to standardize infrastructure, teaching equipment as well as staff and teachers, and improve the quality of education. Therefore, during the construction process, the school as well as the local government always strive to mobilize all resources to invest in school facilities and classrooms in a spacious and modern direction; at the same time, promote activities and emulation movements for the goal of improving the quality of education.

Not only Quang Tam Primary School, but also the appearance of schools in Quang Phu ward has been improving through the emulation movement to build national standard schools. Teacher Chu Dang Phan, Principal of Quang Phu Secondary School, Quang Phu ward, said: "Building a national standard school has been identified by the school board as one of the key tasks to realize the goal of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation. Although there are still difficulties due to the lack of teachers, with the attention of authorities at all levels, the education sector and the continuous efforts of the staff, teachers and students, since 2020 the school has been recognized as a level 1 national standard school. By June 2025, after investing in upgrading many important educational items, the school has been recognized as level 2 national standard school. This result has created confidence and motivation for each teacher and student to strive and make efforts for the goal of improving the quality of education of the school".

It is known that among 22 public schools of all 3 levels of preschool, primary and secondary school in Quang Phu ward that have achieved national standards, there are currently 15 schools that have achieved national standards level 2. This is not only the result of investment attention from functional sectors, local authorities and the efforts of staff, teachers and students, but also the result of the consensus and positive response of all classes of people in the work of socializing education. Through assessment, schools that have achieved national standards are promoting their role as a driving force to promote the implementation of the strategy of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation. From that meaning, the movement to build schools that have achieved national standards continues to be identified as a key and regular task with the participation of Party committees, authorities and people in Quang Phu ward.

According to the Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Le Thanh Dong ward, this task will also be linked to the theme of each school year and movements and campaigns launched by the industry and locality such as "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", the campaign "Each teacher is an example of morality, self-study and creativity", the emulation movement "Two good"... At the same time, it is closely linked to the requirements of innovating teaching and learning methods, innovating testing, assessment and quality control of education as well as training and standardization of the teaching staff.
