Tam Binh Pharmaceutical supports Thai Nguyen people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods

The recent storm and flood caused hundreds of thousands of houses in Thai Nguyen to be deeply submerged, many items were damaged or swept away by floodwaters. To share the difficulties with people in flooded areas, Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company recently cooperated with the Hanoi Businesswomen Association and the Thai Nguyen Businesswomen Association to give gifts to support people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods with a total cost of more than 210 million VND.

220 practical gifts to support Thai Nguyen people

Ngoc Lam Hamlet, Linh Son Ward, Thai Nguyen was the area that suffered heavy damage in the recent storm No. 11. The water rose rapidly, submerging many houses. The whole hamlet was isolated, without electricity and water, and could only be accessed by boat.

“This is truly a historic flood, unprecedented in hundreds of years. The damage to the fields is almost 100%, crops are lost. About 97% of houses are flooded, many houses are flooded up to the roof. Many furniture is damaged, pots and pans are all swept away,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Head of Ngoc Lam residential group.

The floodwaters have receded, but the lives of Ngoc Lam residents are still filled with difficulties, with broken furniture lying around waiting to be repaired.

Understanding the damage that people have suffered after the storm and flood, Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company has coordinated to organize a gift giving program for local people with the hope of helping them overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

On the morning of October 21, the program gave 220 gifts to households, each worth 550,000 VND including pots, pans, rice cookers, school supplies, laundry detergent, mouthwash... These are all essential items that people are in dire need of to stabilize their lives after the flood recedes.

People were excited to receive essential supplies.

Holding gifts from the program, Mrs. Vu Thi Thai, 78 years old, Ngoc Lam hamlet shared that her house has only one floor, the recent flood was up to the ceiling, the rice cooker, gas stove, and refrigerator were all damaged.

“I am very happy to receive these practical items. Thank you Tam Binh Pharmaceuticals and the businesswomen in Hanoi for helping us, the people in the flood-affected areas,” Ms. Thai shared.

Visiting and encouraging 4 families who lost loved ones in storms and floods

Not only did the flood sweep away crops and property, it also caused many families to lose loved ones.

With a heart of sharing, in the afternoon of the same day, the volunteer group of Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company visited the homes of 4 families who unfortunately lost their loved ones in the recent flood in La Hien and Trang Xa communes.... At each family, the group gave a gift including 1 warm blanket, 1 rice cooker, 3 million VND in cash and encouraged the families to overcome the pain and loss.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Du, 67 years old, Trang Xa commune, still has not overcome the pain when talking about her 41 year old son who was swept away by the flood. People died, fields were devastated, she worried about her daughter-in-law and three grandchildren not knowing where to rely on to survive.

“If you lose something, you can still rebuild it, but if you lose someone, you can never find it again,” she choked up, her eyes red. Receiving the gift from the volunteer group, she was moved to tears: “I don’t know what to say now, I can only thank the benefactors for their help.”
