According to EVNCPC, there are currently 413,418 customers whose electricity supply is interrupted, accounting for 8.37% of the total number of EVNCPC customers, accounting for 23.72% of customers of 3 Power Companies: Hue, Da Nang and Quang Tri. These are the localities heavily affected by this flood.

Of which, Hue Electricity Company was most affected with 194,605 customers (58.86% of the Company's total customers) and 1,320 distribution transformer stations flooded, temporarily stopping power supply, concentrated in 28/40 communes and wards of Hue City.

Da Nang Electricity Company currently has 218,573 customers (24.94% of total customers) and 1,899 distribution transformer stations that have had to stop supplying electricity. The affected areas are spread across 50 communes and wards in mountainous, riverside and low-lying areas.

In Quang Tri province, the situation has basically stabilized. Currently, only 240 customers (0.05% of total customers) and 7 distribution substations have stopped operating, concentrated in Trieu Phong commune.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh, Deputy General Director, Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of EVNCPC, many areas have had power supply interruptions because the Electricity Company proactively took action to stop power supply to ensure safety in deeply flooded areas.

Currently, the entire Corporation is maintaining 24/7 on-call duty, mobilizing maximum human resources, vehicles and materials to handle flooded areas, ready to restore power supply as soon as the water recedes and safety conditions are ensured.

“We have identified restoring power to people, medical facilities and essential infrastructure as our top priority. Units are working every hour to ensure absolute safety and promptly restore the power system,” Mr. Khanh emphasized.

Previously, on October 28, Mr. Le Viet Hung, Head of EVN Technical and Safety Department, together with the EVN delegation and Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, inspected the actual situation of the power grid and the work to overcome the consequences of floods in Hoi An and Tam Ky wards, Da Nang city.

During the field inspection, the EVN delegation presented gifts to encourage flood response staff at the Hoi An Power Management Team and Da Nang 2 Control Center.
