To let students say no to violence

In a recent flag salute, the forum "Building beautiful friendships, saying no to school violence" organized by the Youth Union of Son Tra High School (An Hai ward) attracted the participation of a large number of students and teachers.

Bui Hai An, a student of class 11/10, expressed: “From these useful activities, I see that each student needs to practice behavioral culture, respect and sympathize with friends. When there is a conflict, choose to dialogue and listen instead of arguing; when you see your friend being hurt, reach out to help instead of staying silent. Because just a small action, a positive word, will contribute to creating a more humane and safe school environment.”

Mr. Le The Toan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Son Tra High School, said that the content of preventing school violence is receiving attention from families, schools and society. Therefore, every year, the Youth Union organizes at least 2 major activities related to preventing school violence, including the forum "Building beautiful friendships, saying no to school violence".

Thereby providing students with knowledge and understanding of issues related to school violence as well as equipping them with prevention skills, knowing how to protect themselves and protect those around them.

Similarly, Nguyen Van Thoai High School (Hoa Xuan Ward) and Ngo Quyen High School (Son Tra Ward) also organized forums "Building beautiful friendships - Say no to school violence" and "Propaganda about cyber security for students".

Besides providing information about school violence, children's rights, cyber security..., students experience real-life situations with a set of quiz questions related to school violence and safety when using social networks...

Diversifying the method of expression is the way that the Youth Union of Lien Chieu High School (Hai Van Ward) chooses to attract students' participation.

Mr. Le Thanh Son, Secretary of the School Youth Union, shared, "Building beautiful friendships - Saying no to school violence" is a key activity regularly organized by the school at the beginning of each school year.

Thereby raising awareness, forming skills to guide students on how to control emotions and language to avoid violence.

In addition, the school created short videos and infographics about school violence to post on the fanpage to increase information for students.

Mr. Son believes that school education work must be carried out regularly, in all departments, fields, and in families and society.

It can be integrated into extracurricular activities, flag salutes, subjects such as Economic and Legal Education, Literature, etc. Besides, it is also necessary to grasp students' psychology and information to prevent violence before it occurs.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Le The Toan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Son Tra High School, expressed that propaganda and orientation activities for students need to be carried out regularly and continuously.

Encourage students to share information about signs of verbal violence and cyber violence for timely handling.

Along with that, there needs to be more attention, education, and closer coordination between families and schools, helping students raise awareness and correct perception of the dangers of school violence.

According to Mr. Le Manh Tan, Vice Principal of Nguyen Van Thoai High School, preventing school violence is not a campaign, but a core part of the school's educational philosophy, requiring the cooperation and consensus of the school, family, society and the students themselves.

Therefore, the school focuses on creating a healthy and peaceful school environment through effectively organizing and diversifying clubs, teams, groups and healthy competitive movements, helping students have a playground, increase cohesion, learn to share and develop.
