TPO - On the evening of September 17, thousands of residents and tourists came to the beach next to Can Thanh town park to watch the artistic formation using drones. This is a special activity in the 2024 Can Gio Whale Festival.

Before 7pm, people were already sitting on the beach waiting to watch the light show with 250 drones. Due to weather conditions, the show did not start until 9pm.

From 7 p.m., tens of thousands of residents and tourists flocked to the stone embankment of Can Thanh town park, where they could watch the performance.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Xuan - Vice Chairman of Can Gio District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Can Gio Whale Festival 2024 said that the highlight of the festival is the light art performance with 250 drones to recreate the typical images of Whale Festival, Ong Thuy Tuong Mausoleum and images of Can Gio.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Can Gio Whale Festival in 2024 has been reduced in scale to share the difficulties with the people affected by storms and floods and only maintain traditional activities such as the flag-raising ceremony, the ceremony to pay respect to the old boatmen, the ceremony to send off and receive the Whale on the sea, and the festival to celebrate the achievements of Can Gio fishermen.

Image of Binh Khanh Bridge across Soai Rap River, connecting Nha Be and Can Gio Districts of Ho Chi Minh City will replace Binh Khanh Ferry, directly connecting Nha Be District with Can Gio District, 2.76 km long, 55 m high clearance, 375 m long main span across Soai Rap River (connecting Nha Be and Can Gio Districts) was started in August 2015 with a total investment of more than 2,800 billion VND. This bridge is expected to be completed in 2025 along with Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway.
