Resources from the central to local levels are mobilized to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the people.
After much deliberation, Mr. Sung A Lu decided to build a new house to replace the old, dilapidated house. His family had almost no counterpart, Mr. Lu was excited to know that he had 60 million VND in support from the State, was also given cement, and received labor support from the forces. Mr. Sung A Lu, Sin Chai village, Den Thanh commune, Bat Xat district shared: "I can't do it myself, I have an old couple and no money. The secretary said that the commune will help, so I'm happy. Now I'm just trying to do it. Having a new house is fun."
Den Thanh commune these days is like a large construction site, with dozens of houses being built and repaired. Today, hundreds of support forces were present at the families, helping people level the ground, dig foundations, and transport materials. The spirit of solidarity helps make the work less arduous. Mr. Dang Minh Linh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bat Xat district, said: "This is an extremely difficult commune of Bat Xat, the progress is slower than other communes, so we mobilized forces to help the people. In addition to the front and veterans, today there is also the youth union and the farmers' association. The brothers are very enthusiastic, they have not rested since morning".
Solid and spacious houses were built, helping people feel secure in settling down and working.
As one of the 10 poorest communes in the province, Den Thanh currently has 46.9% of poor households, and people's living standards are still low. Through a review since the beginning of the term, the whole commune has nearly 300 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 170 need to be eliminated in 2025, with 135 newly built houses. To complete the temporary house elimination program on time is a big challenge for the locality, but it will also be a push for this "poor core" to truly change. Mr. Ly Viet Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Den Thanh commune, Bat Xat district, shared: "We have received help from benefactors, plus support money from the State and loans to be able to build houses. By the 10th of this month, we will start construction and are determined to reach the finish line by May 30. Once the temporary houses are eliminated, we will complete the housing criteria".
In 2024, 646 households in "core poor" communes were removed from the list of poor households, corresponding to a poverty reduction rate of 11.06%. Striving to reduce the average poverty rate by 11.45% or more. Each commune achieving at least 1 criterion for new rural construction is the goal set for 2025. Solid and spacious houses are built, helping people feel secure in settling down and working in production. This will be an important support for that goal to soon become a reality.
