Fined 2 vehicle owners for transporting animal organs of unknown origin

Market Management Team No. 8, Provincial Market Management Department, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, discovered 2 cases of transporting animal organs of unknown origin, seizing 250kg of animal organs. Notably, all of the above goods were rotten and had no documents proving their origin.

Authorities discovered 130kg of animal organs of unknown origin being transported for consumption in Viet Tri city on July 13.

Accordingly, on July 13, at Km 3 + 300, National Highway 32C, Tho Son Ward, Viet Tri City, the authorities stopped a truck with license plate 19C-099.XX, driven by Mr. QMT, residing in Cao Xa Commune, Lam Thao District, with signs of suspected transport of goods that did not ensure food safety (ATTP). Upon inspection, the authorities discovered that the vehicle was transporting 5 white foam boxes, covered with tape.

Upon physical inspection of the styrofoam box, the authorities discovered that it contained animal products such as buffalo, cow, and pig organs including: intestines, liver, and lungs of various types weighing 130kg. All of the above goods were leaking, had an unpleasant odor, and did not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business.

Supervise the destruction of all animal organs according to the provisions of law.

Previously, on July 5, also in the above area, authorities discovered a car with license plate 19C-099.XX, driven by Mr. NVT, Minh Nong ward, Viet Tri city, carrying 120kg of animal organs with discolored and foul-smelling colors on the way to be sold.

Working with the authorities, the owners of the vehicles, who were also the owners of all the above-mentioned goods, could not present invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods and admitted to purchasing animal organs of unknown origin and origin floating on the market, without a Quarantine Certificate, and were being transported for consumption when they were discovered and arrested by the authorities.

Market Management Team No. 8 has drawn up a record and administratively fined the vehicle owners for the act of: Transporting animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business. The total amount of administrative fine is 20 million VND; at the same time, the owner of the above violating goods is required to destroy them according to regulations.
