Hot industry benchmark appears, approaching 30 points

On the afternoon of August 20, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Principal of the University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that after 11 virtual filtering rounds in the Southern region, the school's regular university admission score this year is expected to fluctuate between 24-29.55 points depending on the major.

In particular, key industries such as artificial intelligence and microchip design recorded a sharp increase in scores compared to last year.

Besides, many other majors also reduced their benchmark scores, in line with the general trend and opening up more opportunities for candidates. The lowest benchmark score is 24 points.

This year, instead of converting each candidate's score to a common scale, the school applies the percentile table announced by Ho Chi Minh City National University and the Ministry of Education and Training , based on the conversion framework for admission scores between admission methods.

Mr. Khang said that this benchmark is only calculated up to the present time. After continuing to filter out the fakes 4 more times, the score may be slightly adjusted.

Last year, the school's benchmark score ranged from 25.55 to 28.3 points. Of which, artificial intelligence had the highest benchmark score of 28.3 points. Next, data science and computer science had 27.5 and 27.3 points, respectively.

The IC design industry has a benchmark of 26.5 points.

Looking back at the national benchmark score in 2024, topping the rankings are the two majors of literature pedagogy and history pedagogy of Hanoi National University of Education, both reaching 29.3 points.

In 2023, the highest admission score is 29.42 points for the IT major: computer science of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Thus, if the 29.55 mark is established, this will break the benchmark record of the previous two consecutive years.
