Việt NamViệt Nam16/08/2023

In recent years, the Canadian labor market has been expanding and attracting many workers from other countries to work under legal labor export programs. The Canadian Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship recently announced a plan to target 465,000 permanent residents by 2023. This number will increase to 485,000 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025, compared to more than 405,000 in 2021. Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Sean Fraser emphasized that immigration is necessary to help Canada increase its population, meet the need to supplement the workforce and address the aging population.

The Canadian Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship emphasized that in order to address the serious labor shortage and respond to the aging population trend, the Canadian Government is actively implementing policies to attract immigrants to live and work.

In 2023, it is expected that labor export to Canada will be a fever for Vietnamese workers. Many occupations are being proposed by the Canadian government such as agriculture , mechanical processing, construction, electronics, welding, food processing, many different specialized engineers, etc. The Canadian labor market is considered one of the countries with a good working environment.

In a recent working session with Mr. Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Trade and Export Development of Saskatchewan Province (Canada), Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan said that in recent times, the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Canada have made new strides in the fields of investment, trade and social security. Vietnam has a very abundant labor force with good qualifications and skills and can quickly access high-tech production lines of other countries. According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan, recently, a number of Vietnamese enterprises have been licensed by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to carry out procedures to sign contracts to send nearly 100 Vietnamese workers to work in Canada.

The Canadian labor market is considered by Vietnamese businesses and workers to be one of the countries with a good working environment, high income, stable life, and social security issues are taken care of and guaranteed.

The Deputy Minister also proposed to the Canadian side solutions to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries in general and between the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and Saskatchewan province in particular in the field of labour and employment, especially in the field of sending Vietnamese workers abroad to work for a limited period of time.

Speaking at the meeting, Saskatchewan Minister Jeremy Harrison said that Canada is facing some difficulties and challenges due to the lack of labor, especially in the construction and health care sectors. Saskatchewan in particular hopes that in the near future, the agreement to send Vietnamese workers to work in Canada can be re-implemented.

Currently, Canada has many very good policies to protect workers, so Vietnamese workers when coming to Canada to work can rest assured that they will receive a very good working environment. At the same time, we have worked with the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam to facilitate the fastest VISA issuance for Vietnamese workers who are qualified to go to Canada to work'' - Minister Jeremy Harrison, exchanged.

It can be said that the Canadian market will be and is a sweet cake, however, workers also need to pay attention to many things, because the Canadian market is still very strict, so it has not really recruited many Vietnamese workers to work. Just like in Vietnam, there are very few companies that are allowed to recruit workers to this market./.
