Fruit and vegetable exports forecast to reach 7 billion USD in 2024

ANTD.VN - The Center for Industry and Trade Information ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) forecasts that fruit and vegetable export turnover in 2024 could reach 7 billion USD. Durian is the main export item.

Fruit and vegetable exports expected to continue strong growth

According to the Center, in the final months of the year, fruit and vegetable exports continue to be supported by increased demand from world markets at the end of the year, especially China, plus the effectiveness of trade agreements and protocols.

However, at this time, some main export fruits such as durian, mango, jackfruit, longan... are in the off-season, which will cause supply to narrow, so the export turnover of these items in the coming months may decrease significantly, especially durian.

For the whole year of 2024, export turnover is forecast to increase by 25% compared to 2023, to more than 7 billion USD, an increase of 25% compared to 2023.

Due to its geographical location, convenient transportation and protocols between the two countries, China is still Vietnam's largest fruit and vegetable consumption market with a total turnover of about 4 billion USD in 10 months.

Following the Thai, US and EU markets... with turnover reaching hundreds of millions of USD per market.
