State Bank reorganizes 63 provincial branches down to 15 regional branches

(Dan Tri) - 63 State Bank branches at provincial and city levels were reorganized into 15 regional branches from July 1 and synchronized with the new local government system.

Implementing the Central Resolution on continuing to innovate and streamline the organization and apparatus for effective operation, the State Bank has restructured its local branch system according to the regional model.

Accordingly, 63 provincial and municipal branches of the State Bank have been reorganized into 15 regional branches of the State Bank. These units officially came into operation from March 1.

On April 12, the 13th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW, agreeing to rearrange provincial-level administrative units to 34 provinces and cities.

On that basis, the State Bank has issued 14 decisions amending and supplementing the functions, tasks and organizational structure of 14 regional State Banks (except for State Bank Region 1). The regional State Banks officially came into operation from July 1, in sync with the new local government system.

The current regional State Banks (except for regions 1 and 2) were established on the basis of merging the former provincial State Bank branches. Each regional State Bank will be responsible for State management of currency, banking and foreign exchange in 3-6 provinces and cities.

This streamlined organization does not increase organizational units, does not create new organizations, and at the same time limits the impact on staff and personnel, ensuring asset safety and monetary security.

The new organizational model includes 15 regional State Banks, of which, Region 1 is in charge of Hanoi. State Bank Region 2 is in charge of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City.

State Bank regions 3 to 15 are respectively in charge of the groups of provinces in the Northwest, Northeast, Midlands, Central Coast, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta, with headquarters located in economic centers or convenient transportation areas in the region.

The reorganization is carried out according to the principle of inheriting the old model, ensuring suitability with geographical and traffic conditions, without increasing the number of departments compared to the present. At the same time, the State Bank will also coordinate with localities to establish Party organizations in regional State Banks.
