Vietcombank said it has just expanded the feature of Warning about suspected fraud or scam accounts (VCB Alert) for money transfer transactions within the bank on VCB Digibank and at the counter.
Accordingly, when customers make online money transfer transactions, the system will automatically issue a warning if the recipient's account shows signs such as: The recipient's information does not match the national population database; The recipient's account is on the warning list of a competent State agency; The recipient's account is on the list of suspected risks...
In case of transactions at the counter, Vietcombank staff will proactively notify customers when the recipient's account shows similar suspicious signs.
Based on the warning information, customers can proactively decide whether to continue the transaction or not.
Previously, since June 30, Vietcombank has deployed a feature to warn recipient accounts of suspected fraud and scams. To date, the system has issued hundreds of thousands of warnings to customers when making money transfers.

Banks still recommend that customers always be vigilant and protect personal information to avoid fraud.
According to Agribank , the service of warning accounts with signs of suspected fraud and scams is provided free of charge by the bank to help prevent risks and protect customers' rights. The AgriNotify service - detecting and warning about suspected and fraudulent accounts is integrated directly on the Agribank Plus platform.
It is known that up to now, some banks have piloted the fraudulent account warning system such as Vietcombank, BIDV , MB, Agribank...
When customers enter the recipient's account number, before making a transfer transaction within the Agribank system or NAPAS 24/7 fast money transfer, the service will automatically compare with the database provided by the authorities (Ministry of Public Security, State Bank, ...) and the internal database.
In case an account is detected to be on the list of suspected fraud or scams, the system will immediately turn on a notification that the receiving account may be on the list of suspected risks and warn customers to consider when making transactions.
Warning information includes: high-risk accounts, recipients on the warning list of competent authorities; medium-risk accounts, recipient accounts suspected of having unusual signs; unverified accounts, recipient information does not match the National Population Database.
According to data from the Payment Department of the State Bank, after more than 5 months of piloting the State Bank's fraudulent account warning system (SIMO), banks have helped prevent more than VND1,790 billion of suspicious transactions, avoiding losses for 468,000 customers.
Banks still recommend that customers always be vigilant, protect personal information and service security information, and regularly monitor risk warning information and safe transaction instructions from banks and authorities.
