The 2025 World Vovinam Championship brings together more than 600 martial artists from 26 countries and territories on 4 continents, competing in 45 medal sets including 26 martial arts events and 19 combat weight classes.
With 39 players participating, the Vietnamese team showed impressive performance, winning 24 gold medals and 1 silver medal in 6 days of competition (from November 2 to 7), surpassing strong opponents such as Algeria and Cambodia to defend the top position of the delegation. Algeria ranked second (9 gold medals, 10 silver medals, 5 bronze medals), while Cambodia ranked third (7 gold medals, 11 silver medals, 5 bronze medals).

This event is considered the pinnacle of competition, demonstrating technique, martial spirit and the aspiration to bring Vovinam closer to the Olympic dream.
This is the most important playground for the world's top martial artists to demonstrate their talent, technique and martial spirit. For national teams, especially the Vietnamese Vovinam team, the tournament is an opportunity to affirm their leading position, after the successes in national tournaments in 2025.
The event is also the most accurate measure of Vovinam's professional level in the international arena.

Besides, Permanent Vice President of the World Vovinam Federation Florin Macovei highly appreciated the quality of the tournament and the progress of countries such as Japan, Korea, Iran and France, affirming that Vovinam is developing strongly on a global scale.
As planned, the 9th World Vovinam Championship will be held in Algeria in 2027.
On the same occasion, the Executive Committee Conference of the Southeast Asian Vovinam Federation in Bali elected Mr. Ou Ratana (Cambodia) as President, and unanimously chose Cambodia to host the 2026 Asian Vovinam Championship, marking a new development step for the regional Vovinam movement.
