Welcoming us with a radiant face, Ms. Le Thi An (born in 1990), in Thuy Tu village, Vinh Hoang commune, informed: "I have just finished paying back the loan from the "Farmer Support" program, earning 3 beef cows. If everything goes well, this year's Tet, I will continue to sell cows to have capital to re-raise. For the past two years, thanks to this preferential loan, my husband and I have had more conditions to develop our family economy ."
Ms. An is one of 40 households supported by GREENFEED Joint Stock Company and Tuoi Tre Newspaper through the program "Supporting Farmers". Before that, her family's situation was very difficult. Despite her efforts, her and her husband's work as hired drivers and laborers was not enough to support their 3 school-age children. Therefore, when she was able to borrow 20 million VND without interest for 2 years, Ms. An felt very lucky and happy.
“With capital, my husband and I decided to repair the barn and buy a pair of cows to raise. The cows grew healthily, we earned 15 million VND from selling them and used this money to continue reinvesting,” said Ms. An. Along with raising cows, the couple worked hard to do many different jobs to increase their income. Thanks to that, their life has become more stable and their children's path to school has also been opened. “Not only providing capital support, the program also supports my children, creating motivation for them to continue going to school,” Ms. An confided.

The husband drives a rented car, the wife has no stable job, and has to raise 3 small children, so the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc (born in 1987), in Tu Chinh village, Vinh Hoang commune, used to face many difficulties. With the support of the program, she invested 2/3 of the preferential capital to buy breeding animals, and the remaining 1/3 to repair the barn.
“The day my husband and I heard that we were receiving preferential capital support to develop our economy, my husband and I were very happy. Before, I used to raise livestock but it was not effective due to lack of capital and experience. Later, when I applied the livestock raising techniques guided by GREENFEED JSC, my livestock raising became more favorable. The money from selling chickens has helped my family overcome many difficulties. Now I just hope to have money to take care of my family, so that my children can study properly and help my husband to have less hardship,” Ms. Cuc said emotionally.
Implemented since 2023, the "Supporting Farmers" program has supported 40 farming households in Vinh Hoang commune with interest-free loans with a total cost of 920 million VND, including 800 million VND in cash and 120 million VND in animal feed support costs. The 40 households mentioned above are all farming households (priority given to women) with difficult circumstances but determined to become economically independent and improve their lives.
In addition to providing capital, GREENFEED Vietnam also organizes many training sessions, knowledge consultations, and product consumption to help farmers use capital effectively. In particular, not only supporting economic development funding, every year, the program also rewards children of the above families for their high achievements in studying, transferring to other levels, etc., to motivate them to continue their dream of going to school. After 2 years of implementation, "Supporting Farmers" has completed its mission, creating positive changes for households with many difficulties in the province. Currently, 40/40 households have repaid the loan and their total income has increased compared to before.
Initiated in 2010, “Supporting Farmers” is a program jointly implemented by GREENFEED Vietnam and Tuoi Tre Newspaper with the aim of bringing a better life to farmers; helping farmers, especially poor female farmers, have the opportunity to develop their livelihoods. Since then, through the program of supporting loans, animal feed product costs and training in animal husbandry skills, “Supporting Farmers” has helped improve the livelihoods of thousands of farming households in provinces and cities across the country with a total budget of over 74 billion VND, of which the proportion of women participating in the program accounts for 95%. The majority of households receiving capital have been producing effectively, with a capital repayment rate of over 94%.
Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Vinh Hoang Commune Nguyen Thi Thuy affirmed that "Supporting farmers" is a meaningful program, which has created a strong impression in public opinion and local authorities; creating a change in awareness and actions of disadvantaged households in the area.
“Through the program, farmers in the commune have had capital to develop livestock and crops, thereby having the opportunity to develop the economy and escape poverty. We hope that in the coming time, the program will continue to be implemented in Vinh Hoang commune in particular and the whole province in general to help poor farming households have the conditions to rise up to become economic masters, contributing to the development of the homeland,” said Ms. Thuy.
