Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien has just requested provinces and centrally-run cities to rectify the management of slaughter activities and animal slaughter control processes to ensure disease safety and food safety.
For facilities that have not been licensed to operate, do not ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety conditions, and use banned chemicals and additives, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requires them to stop operating.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also requested that provinces and cities have priority policies to develop a centralized slaughter network to ensure veterinary hygiene, disease safety, and food safety; and coordinate with veterinary, health , police, and market management units.
The above requirements were made after the recent occurrence of slaughtering sick pigs, dead pigs, pigs with infectious diseases such as African swine fever and blue ear disease and selling them to processing and trading establishments.
For example, the case of the vehicle carrying 180 sick and dead pigs for sale in Ha Tinh on May 30, the case of the vehicle carrying many pigs to the slaughterhouse in Quang Tri on June 3; the case of a former employee of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company reporting violations at CP FreshShop My Xuyen store, My Xuyen town (My Xuyen, Soc Trang). The incident at CP Company is being investigated and clarified by the police.
