Recently, an aquarium in China suddenly became famous on social networking sites in the country after a video recording the performance of a chubby "mermaid" there was posted on social networks and attracted millions of views.
Accordingly, this aquarium is known as an entertainment area located in Changchun in the northeastern province of Jilin. Previously, this aquarium did not have the appearance of a "mermaid" but only hired professional female divers to perform inside the glass tank.
The mermaid's unique performance at the aquarium quickly spread on Chinese social networks.
However, before the Lunar New Year, the female divers were too busy to take on the job at the aquarium. Therefore, a man who usually had another job here asked the management to try his hand at this "mermaid" job.
In his performances, this mermaid, although not possessing a toned, strong body like in comics, has an "infinite" sense of humor. According to a series of videos posted, this "mermaid" wears a mermaid tail with floral prints, drawing straight lines on his fat belly symbolizing a humorous six-pack. Then, he performs pinching and shaking his belly with funny facial expressions and enthusiastically interacting with the visitors watching outside.
The image shows the "unique" performance of this chubby mermaid.
Sharing with the media, this man admitted that because of his chubby body, there was no suitable outfit. Therefore, the aquarium had to make a mermaid tail with traditional Asian motifs for him.
On mainland social media, many cute nicknames have been used by netizens to call this man. Meanwhile, some people joked that this mermaid guy is the true image of deep-water creatures that need fat to survive in cold conditions.
"Show more and he'll have real six pack abs ," one person said.
"Thank you for your enthusiastic performance, but I probably won't go see it because I already have a husband at home with a similar body type," one person humorously shared.
