On the morning of June 2, the Vietnam U16 team returned home. Concluding the journey at the CFA Team China 2025 U16 International Tournament, Vietnam U16 ranked 3rd in the tournament.
In the final match of the 2025 CFA Team China U16 International Championship, host U16 China surprisingly won 5-2 against U16 Australia, thereby winning the championship. This result also means that coach Cristiano Roland and his team finished in third place overall with 4 points (losing 1-2 to Australia, drawing 2-2 with China and winning 2-1 against Saudi Arabia).

Reviewing the tournament, head coach Cristiano Roland said: “I am very proud and congratulate all the players. I understand the importance and the requirements needed to prepare for each match.
From the first days of training to the matches in the tournament, everything is aimed at helping the children progress and develop, especially learning how to play modern football with high speed and intensity. Three weeks is not a long time, but most of the children have matured a lot, showing a serious attitude in training and competition.

After the comeback match to force host U16 China to share points with a score of 2-2 and win 2-1 against Saudi Arabia, coach Cristiano Roland emphasized: "The players' fighting spirit is excellent, although our opponents are stronger, with better conditions, but with the quality and spirit of Vietnam, they can still overcome. They have the right to be proud of that."
The 2025 CFA Team China International U16 Tournament is an important stepping stone towards the goal of the upcoming 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers.
