This morning (June 7), more than 103,000 Hanoi students took the first exam - Literature to compete for a place in grade 10 of public high schools in 2025. The test time is 120 minutes.

At the Phan Dinh Phung High School exam site, many parents were present from 6am to take their children to the exam. Ms. Le Thanh Ha (40 years old, Hoan Kiem district) gently encouraged her daughter before entering the exam room: "There is no need to worry about passing or failing the public 10th grade exam, you just need to do your best. No matter what the result is, I will always be by your side." From the beginning of the 6th grade, Ms. Ha and her daughter made a plan together to conquer their dream of entering 10th grade at Phan Dinh Phung school. The study schedule and review plan were carefully discussed and agreed upon by both mother and daughter. For 4 years - more than 1,400 days - the two of them accompanied each other on a long journey full of effort and determination. "This morning before entering the exam room, my daughter was the one who encouraged me: 'Mom, wait for me to bring you the news of victory'," Ms. Ha emotionally recounted.

Ms. Mai Anh (38 years old, Hoan Kiem district) transmitted spiritual energy to her daughter with a loving hug. "When I took my daughter into the exam room, I tried to stay calm, but I was really nervous. I just hoped that she would not be surprised by the exam questions, and would do well on the test to turn the page to a new page in her student life," Ms. Mai Anh shared.

Mr. Quang Hung (Hoan Kiem district) patted his son's hand as a blessing and encouragement. "I didn't dare say much, just gently patted his head, encouraged him to try his best on the exam, don't think too much. The exam is important, but what I care about most is that he stays calm and doesn't panic," the father confided.

At the Chu Van An High School exam site, many parents brought their children very early, arriving at the school gate at 6am.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (Ba Dinh district) shared that the family did not put too much pressure on her child and had prepared a backup plan: "This is the first exam under the new generaleducation program, I don't know what the exam questions will be like, whether my child will achieve his wish to enter the desired high school or not. Before the exam, I just reminded my child to stay calm, confident and carefully read the questions, as he always does when studying at home," Ms. Nhung said.

Ms. Le Van Anh (Dong Da district) woke up at 5am to go to the market and prepare breakfast for her child. "Last night I was tossing and turning, so worried that I couldn't sleep. This morning I woke up really early, prepared food and checked my child's papers again. Even though I know my child has been working hard in his studies all this time, the feeling of nervousness still cannot be relieved," Ms. Van Anh shared.

Many parents take their children to the exam site, stay behind to check their documents and study materials, and do not forget to capture the moment their children take their first important exam.

Outside the school gate, in the sweltering early summer sun, many parents still lingered, watching until their children disappeared behind the school gate. Some showed obvious anxiety on their faces, constantly looking inside, but many parents remained calm, placing their faith and hope that their children would pass the exam smoothly.
Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam begins on the morning of June 7 with the Literature subject. In the afternoon of the same day, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam. On the morning of June 8, candidates will take the Math exam. Candidates taking the specialized exam will take the specialized subject exam on June 9.
It is expected that around July 4-6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will simultaneously announce the exam scores and grade 10 benchmark scores. Successful candidates will confirm their enrollment from July 10-12.
