10th grade exam in Hanoi: 1 candidate discovered bringing phone into the exam room

A quick report from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training showed that on the afternoon of June 7, 426 candidates did not take the Foreign Language exam, and 1 candidate was suspended from the exam for bringing a cell phone into the exam room.

Specifically, the number of candidates taking the Foreign Language exam was 102,434/102,806, reaching a rate of 99.59%, with 426 candidates absent.

At 201 exam sites in the city, one candidate violated exam regulations by bringing a cell phone into the exam room, and there was no exam supervisor to violate the regulations. In addition, 12 candidates needed assistance with the exam due to health problems.

Candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam at Hanoi public high schools completed the Literature and Foreign Language exams on June 7.

According to the regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the 2025 public 10th grade exam, the list of items candidates are allowed to bring into the exam room includes: Pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, squares, graphing rulers, drawing tools, handheld calculators without text editing functions, and no memory cards. The fact that phones are not allowed into the exam room has been reminded many times by staff and teachers to candidates both before and during the exam procedures.

Previously, according to a report from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, on the morning of June 7, 420 candidates skipped the Literature exam, and no candidates or invigilators violated the regulations.

Tomorrow morning, June 8, candidates will take the Math test, lasting 120 minutes. Students taking the specialized school exam will take an additional specialized subject test on June 9.

The admission score for non-specialized schools is the sum of three subjects, without any coefficient. This is a new score compared to previous years. For specialized schools, the admission score is the sum of four subjects, for specialized subjects, the coefficient is two, similar to previous years.

It is expected that around July 4-6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will simultaneously announce the exam scores and grade 10 benchmark scores. Successful candidates will confirm their enrollment from July 10-12.
