11 racing boats compete in the traditional boat race "Tam Ky - Sua flower season"

(QNO) - This morning, April 29, the traditional boat race "Tam Ky - Sua flower season 2023" took place on Tam Ky river.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Lai - Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee, this tournament is a continuation of the series of activities under the "Tam Ky - Sua Flower Season" Festival program, at the same time celebrating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh . Thereby, promoting the traditional boat racing movement in the city to develop more and more.

In addition to creating a playground for boat racing enthusiasts, the tournament aims to select racing boat teams with excellent achievements to continue training to participate in the Quang Nam Province Traditional Boat Racing Tournament in 2023.

This year's boat race has 11 boat teams participating, including 7 men's boat teams and 4 women's boat teams from communes and wards in Tam Ky and Tam Giang (Nui Thanh), Binh Trieu (Thang Binh), Duy Vinh (Duy Xuyen). The boats compete in the women's traditional (4,500m) and men's traditional (7,500m) categories, in addition to the men's peace prize (3,000m).

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the racing boats entered the peace tournament.
