In specific areas, pepper prices in Gia Lai decreased slightly by VND 500/kg, down to VND 145,000/kg, the lowest level among the surveyed areas. Meanwhile, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau increased by VND 1,000/kg, reaching VND 146,000/kg, and in Dak Lak also recorded a similar increase, up to VND 147,000/kg, the highest level. Pepper prices in Binh Phuoc remained at VND 145,000/kg, unchanged from the previous session, while Dak Nong prices increased by VND 1,000/kg, reaching VND 145,000/kg.

Overall, with three out of five surveyed regions recording price increases, the pepper market today shows positive signs. The price increase in regions such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dak Lak and Dak Nong may stem from strong export demand, while the price decrease in Gia Lai may be due to excess supply or substandard pepper quality.

White pepper: Malaysia leads (US$11,850/ton), followed by Indonesia (US$10,125/ton) and Vietnam (US$9,500/ton). The average price is around US$10,492/ton. White pepper is always priced higher than black pepper in all markets.

The price stability is in line with the report from the International Pepper Community (IPC), which shows a positive trend with no signs of a price decline. The global pepper market is expected to grow, with an estimated value of US$6.4 billion by 2033 (CAGR 4.1%), driven by demand from the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Overall, the global market showed stability, with a slight decline in Malaysia but not enough to put much pressure on other markets.
