On the morning of April 18, in Hanoi , the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023 - 2025) held a press conference to inform about a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Laos and Cambodia plan to send forces to participate in the parade.
Mr. Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed: "This is an opportunity for every Vietnamese person to recall the sacred historical moment 50 years ago, the emotions not only of millions of hearts in the country but also the sharing and joy of international friends...".
At the press conference, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that at the end of April, many key activities will take place in Ho Chi Minh City. The highlight is the National Commemoration Ceremony held at 6:30 a.m. on April 30 on Le Duan Street and some central streets of the city. The parade and marching program is chaired by the Ministry of National Defense , including: 4 honor guard blocks, 36 parade blocks, 12 parade blocks and is expected to have the participation of the Lao and Cambodian armies.

In particular, for the first time, there will be a parade of 120 overseas Vietnamese from 25 countries and territories. In addition, there will be a number of former war correspondents and overseas Vietnamese reporters attending. 20 LED screens will be arranged on many major streets for people and tourists to watch. The program will be broadcast live nationwide.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, the event received great international attention with more than 20 delegations from countries confirming their attendance. Among them were 3 high-level delegations, 5 ministerial delegations, about 15 political parties from countries in Asia, Africa, and America; more than 100 delegates from peace movement organizations and anti-war movements. Ho Chi Minh City also invited more than 20 localities in many sister countries and prominent foreign individuals. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited former war correspondents and foreigners who have contributed to Vietnam to attend the celebration.

The festival featured the Colors of the City named after Uncle Ho (April 19-30), in which the highlight was the 3D Mapping art performance at the front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters, the performance of 2,000 drones combined with fireworks... Along with that were a series of special art programs such as: The Country is Full of Joy (April 20 at the outdoor stage in front of the Reunification Hall), Symphony of Peace (April 21 at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater), National Reunification Day (broadcast live nationwide on the evening of April 30 at the Reunification Hall)...
In particular, the art program chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City, will be organized on April 29 at the stage in front of Thong Nhat Hall. People's Artist Xuan Bac - Director of the Department of Performing Arts said that the program includes 3 chapters: The Pain of Separation, The Road to Reunification, Spring of Peace and Spring of the New Era; bringing together about 1,000 professional and non-professional actors, singers and leading artists in Vietnam...
