This afternoon, November 6, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival in Quang Tri Province (hereinafter referred to as the festival) held a meeting to review and evaluate the preparation work and approve the contents related to the organization of the festival. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), Head of the Festival Steering Committee Trinh Thi Thuy; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee Hoang Nam chaired the meeting.
The 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival in Quang Tri province is organized to honor the good traditional cultural values, preserve and promote the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups in general and Quang Tri province in particular, creating conditions for localities to exchange, learn, and share experiences, contributing to raising awareness and consciousness in preserving and maintaining national cultural identity, building and defending the Fatherland.

At the same time, it contributes to building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development according to Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the 11th Party Central Committee; Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW, dated June 4, 2020 of the Politburo . The theme of the festival is: "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups, equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a world of peace".
The festival is expected to be held from December 14 to 17, 2024 in Quang Tri province. There are 16 provinces and cities participating in important activities in the festival such as: mass art festival performing traditional costumes; demonstration of community tourism skills, guest welcoming skills, explanation skills, introducing community tourism destinations; sports activities and ethnic folk games. The opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 14; the program layout includes: a ceremony lasting about 40 minutes; an art program lasting about 45 minutes, consisting of 3 parts: Heroic Quang Tri connecting hands with friends; Colors of peace; Radiant Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized: Quang Tri province is honored to host the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival with many unique cultural events and activities.
To prepare for the organization of the festival, based on Plan No. 2355/KH - BVHTTDL dated June 4, 2024 and guiding documents of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee has issued an implementation plan and assigned specific responsibilities and tasks to relevant departments, branches, units and localities; committed to creating the best conditions for provinces and cities to participate in the festival.
Direct the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant local agencies to prepare conditions for organizing the festival; develop specific scenarios and plans for each activity; design spaces for organizing the festival; renovate and supplement facilities and other necessary conditions so that the events and activities of the festival are organized solemnly, practically, effectively, creating a joyful, exciting, and safe atmosphere associated with political and cultural events of the country, the region and Quang Tri province.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated the preparation work of the Department of Ethnic Culture and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri; accepted the opinions exchanged and discussed at the meeting to adjust and supplement the content and script of the festival program.
Basically, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism agreed with the preparation contents reported by the Department of Ethnic Culture and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri, however, there should be some changes and adjustments such as: requesting the provinces and cities participating in the festival to be present in Quang Tri province to complete all necessary work to participate in the rehearsal on the evening of December 13, and at the same time, well implement the requirements of the steering committee and the organizing committee. Proposing to add to the festival activities to honor the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs Cemetery of Road 9 on the morning of December 14; paying attention to promoting information and propaganda work...
Regarding the events and activities of the festival, it is necessary to adjust the time, arrange a reasonable schedule, and reach a high level of consensus so that the closing ceremony can be held on the afternoon of December 16.
The highlight of the program is the opening ceremony of the festival, so we suggest that the members of the steering committee, the organizing committee and Quang Tri province review the name and some content of the art program so that the program can be impressive and spread the message of the festival.
