Benefits of foot soak at home
Helps relieve stress
Soaking your feet in warm water is a powerful stress reliever, promoting the release of feel-good hormones. A study published in the International Journal of Science and Research found that soaking your feet in warm water can help seniors combat fatigue without the need for medication.
Improve blood circulation
Soaking your feet in warm water can help dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow. This is especially beneficial for people who stand or sit for long periods of time.
Lower blood pressure
Massage and warm foot baths with aromatic essential oils can help lower blood pressure in older adults with hypertension. The study was published in the Indonesian Journal of Community Health Nursing.
Helps skin smoother
Dry, cracked heels and rough skin are common foot problems. The warm water in a foot soak helps soften the skin while exfoliating ingredients like salt or oatmeal can remove dead skin cells. This leaves your feet feeling smoother and healthier.
