5,000 people perform at the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival

On March 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism announced that the 10th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2024 with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai" will take place from March 7 to 17 with many special activities.

This is the 10th year the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival has been held, to inspire the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai to the people and international friends, attracting tourists to Ho Chi Minh City.

The highlight of this year's Festival is that more than 5,000 people of different ages and genders will participate in the Ao Dai performance.

The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will take place at the following locations: President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Lam Son Park, Youth Cultural House, Ao Dai Museum, QT4 Square (Saigon Riverside Park, Thu Duc City)... and at historical sites, cultural sites, tourist destinations, and constructions of Ho Chi Minh City.

The festival is accompanied by more than 20 guests, famous people working in many fields such as politics , economics, beauty queens, singers, actors, travel bloggers... with the role of image ambassadors. This year's festival also received the participation of 30 famous Ao Dai designers from many localities across the country.

According to the Organizing Committee, the opening ceremony will be held on the evening of March 7 at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street with two chapters including "Ao Dai - Vietnamese Soul, Vietnamese Culture" and "Ao Dai to the World".

The Ao Dai performance is scheduled to take place on the morning of March 8 at Nguyen Hue walking street. This is also an event to celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day on March 8 with the highlight being the Ao Dai performance with the participation of about 5,000 people of different ages and genders.

During the festival, there will also be exhibitions and interactions with Ao Dai, a zero-cost Ao Dai booth for female workers, and a space to promote 100 interesting things about Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the spread of the Ao Dai Festival will contribute to making Ao Dai a familiar outfit for the city's people from daily life, beauty at the office to important events.

The Ao Dai Festival also contributes to conveying the cultural and tourism image of Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists through activities in the program and media channels, thereby contributing to stimulating tourism.
