5 preliminary rounds of Asian Mathematics Competition

Last school year, the Vietnamese team made history at the AIMO International Finals in Tokyo, Japan, which gathered more than 20 countries and territories. With 1 Championship, 10 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals and 4 Bronze Medals, Vietnamese students not only achieved the highest results ever, but also ignited new confidence and expectations for the journey to conquer knowledge in this year's season.

The Asian Mathematics Competition for the 2025–2026 school year will be held nationwide with four qualifying rounds: Online preliminary round, Regional round, National final round and International final round.

This is not only an exam, but also an opportunity for the young generation of Vietnam to affirm their intelligence, train their mettle and equip themselves to become global citizens in the integration era.

Candidates should note that there will be 5 rounds of the Preliminary Round. Only after passing this round can they enter the next rounds. In the Preliminary Round, candidates will take the exam online nationwide. The exam language is bilingual English - Vietnamese. Special: Candidates are free to take this online Preliminary Round. Although there are 5 rounds, each candidate can only take 1 round.

According to the rules, the registration period is from September 26, 2025 to 3 days before each preliminary round, the deadline is January 28, 2026 (before the final round).

Official 4-round competition schedule

The Asian Mathematics Competition – AIMO will have 4 official rounds from the Preliminary Round to the International Final Round. Who will conquer the rounds and enter the International Final Round?

The 4-round competition schedule and expected time are as follows:

National Finals	Before April 20, 2026	Candidates take the test directly in English in Hanoi and/or Ho Chi Minh City. Only for candidates who won C prize or higher in the Regional Round.
International Finals	From August 1-5, 2026	Candidates take the test in person, on paper, entirely in English.

Notably, according to the Organizing Committee, this year's International Finals are expected to be held in Vietnam with about 3,000 contestants from more than 20 countries.
