On the French side, there were the Chairman of the Committee for Social Affairs and the Chairman of the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group at the French Senate, Representative of the President of the French Senate, Head of the official delegation of French localities Catherine Deroche; Ambassador in charge of Local Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Paul Guihaumé; Deputy Mayor of Toulouse, Member of the Executive Board of the Association of French Localities Jean-Claude Dardelet; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery.

In April 1973, Vietnam and France established diplomatic relations. After 1975, Vietnam-France relations were strengthened in many aspects, with an important milestone being the visit to France by Prime Minister Pham Van Dong in April 1977. In the 1980s, when Vietnam was besieged and embargoed, France was the only Western country to maintain relations with Vietnam through scientific and technical cooperation as well as cultural exchanges. Since 1989, France has taken the lead in opening relations with Vietnam, canceling debts and helping Vietnam settle debts with Paris Club member countries. In February 1993, French President François Mitterrand became the first Western leader to visit Vietnam since 1975.

The photo exhibition brings together 120 photos introducing the relationship between Vietnam - France, the relationship between Vietnamese and French localities in various fields. The photos are arranged in chronological order, marking the diplomatic relations between the two countries. In 1993, at the invitation of French Prime Minister Balladur, Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet led a delegation of our Government to officially visit France.

In 2000, General Secretary Le Kha Phieu visited and worked at the headquarters of the Poa-tu-sa-rang regional council. In 2002, at the invitation of President of the French Republic Jacques Chirac, President Tran Duc Luong and his wife paid an official friendly visit to the French Republic from October 28-31, 2002. This was the first state visit by a Vietnamese head of state to France since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973. Here, President Tran Duc Luong witnessed the signing ceremonies of cooperation between the two countries in many fields.

The photos also introduce the milestones of cooperation between the two countries. In 2005, General Secretary Nong Duc Manh paid an official visit to the French Republic. In 2007, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung paid a working visit to the French Republic. Here, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Prime Minister Francosis Fillon witnessed the signing ceremonies of cooperation agreements between the two sides. In 2008, at the invitation of President of the French Senate Christian Poncelet, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong led a delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly on an official friendship visit to the French Republic.

In 2018, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong paid an official visit to the French Republic from March 25-27, 2018.

Many delegates learned about localities that have relations with French localities.

On December 8, 2022, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue chaired the welcoming ceremony and held talks with President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher on an official visit to Vietnam. On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher attended the launching ceremony of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France. On November 4, 2021, during the official visit to the French Republic, at the Élysée Palace in Paris, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with French President Emmanuel Macron.
