2025 is the 8th year that the Ministry of Education and Training presides over and coordinates with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Information and Communications (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education"; Education and Times Newspaper is the standing unit and organizer.
The award aims to honor authors with excellent press and television works on education and training in the country and to honor typical collectives and individuals with many contributions to the cause of educating people. Thereby, promoting and honoring the contributions of the education sector to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In the 2025 season, the Organizing Committee received more than 800 entries from 4 categories: Print, Electronic, Radio and Television. The entries were published and broadcast on mass media from September 5, 2024 to September 5, 2025.
Mr. Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Managers, Ministry of Education and Training and journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Permanent Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, presented the Outstanding Character Award.
As a result, 82 works were selected for the final round. From these works, the Final Round Council proposed 4 First Prizes; 8 Second Prizes; 12 Third Prizes, 36 Encouragement Prizes and 2 typical characters in the 2 winning works.
According to the Jury, the quality of this year's entries is quite good, reflecting clearly the life of education and closely following current issues in the education sector. Many entries left a deep impression, with careful investment in both content and form of expression.
Compared to previous seasons, the number of participating units has decreased due to the consolidation and merger of press agencies, but the number of articles submitted to participate is still diverse and rich, spanning from North to South.
The quality of local works has also been improved in both content and form, so the number of award-winning works from localities has also increased significantly compared to previous years.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Final Jury, the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" has become a beautiful symbol of the connection between journalism and education - a place to honor humanistic values, spread faith and aspiration for innovation throughout society. The award is not only a professional activity, but has truly become a spiritual forum for writers for knowledge, for people, for the future of the country.

According to journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, 2025 marks the 8th anniversary of the Award. From a professional playground, the Award has become a prestigious, professional and humane forum, gathering thousands of excellent journalistic works from all over the country. In 2025 alone, more than 800 works were submitted. These works vividly reflect the picture of Vietnamese education in a period of strong transformation.
The award illuminates the spirit of humanity, the core value of Vietnamese education. The press is always a companion and a bridge. We are living in the era of digital transformation - where knowledge, technology and humanity blend to open up new opportunities. Vietnamese education is firmly on the path of fundamental and comprehensive innovation.
"In that journey, the press is always a reliable companion. The press is the bridge between policy and life, between school and society, between teachers, students and the whole population," journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam shared.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 36 consolation prizes; 12 third prizes; 8 second prizes; 4 first prizes.
4 First Prizes were awarded to the works: The series of articles "The Way of a Teacher" (printed newspaper, authors Le Vo Nguyet Thuong, Le Thi Ngoc Huong - Vietnam Law Newspaper); the series of articles "Resolution 71 - The Party's Breakthrough Policy: To make Vietnamese education stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's great powers" (electronic newspaper, authors Pham Thi Mai, Vo Hoang Long - VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper); the work "Vietnamese Human Resources - Vietnamese Aspiration" (radio genre, authors Nguyen Thi Thu Luong, Tran Ba Duy, Cao Thi Phuong Lan - Culture - Society and Ethnicity Department (VOV2) - Voice of Vietnam ; the work "Opening the Way" (television genre, authors Dang Tran My Hanh, Duong Van Thuan, Cao Dang Giang - Special Topics Department - Science and Education - Vietnam Television).
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 outstanding character awards, namely teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen - a character in the work "A disabled teacher teaches a disabled student" (electronic newspaper, Vietnam Veterans Newspaper) and the teachers of Lang Nu Kindergarten - a character in the work "Miracle in Lang Nu" (television genre - Newspaper and Radio, Lao Cai Television).
At the program, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son launched the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" in 2026.
