733 students majoring in Rubber were awarded "October 28" scholarships in 2025

On the morning of October 19, at the Military Theater (HCMC), the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union held a ceremony to commend and award the “October 28” scholarships in 2025 to 733 outstanding students who are children of officials, workers, civil servants, and laborers in the entire industry. The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG), the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union, the October 28 Education Promotion Association, representatives of member units, sponsors, and many parents and students who were honored.

The program took place on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the Vietnam Rubber Industry's Traditional Day (October 28, 1929 - October 28, 2025).

The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG), the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union, the October 28th Education Promotion Association, representatives of member units, sponsors, and many parents and students who were honored.

“Each scholarship is a fueling fire”

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Hung – General Director of VRG – sent his congratulations to the 733 honored students. He praised the students’ spirit of overcoming difficulties and studying hard, and acknowledged the support of trade unions, units and sponsors at all levels in the 13-year journey of the “28/10” Scholarship Fund.

Mr. Tran Cong Kha - Member of the Government Party Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VRG and representative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the students.

“Each scholarship is not only a reward, but also a fuel to help students confidently go to school, nurturing their dreams and aspirations,” Mr. Hung emphasized.

According to the report of the October 28th Association for Promotion of Education, since its establishment in 2012, the fund has honored 6,318 students in the whole industry. In 2025 alone, 733 students were honored, including: 163 students admitted to university with scores of 26 or higher, 500 excellent students, 67 students who overcame difficulties and studied well, 3 students won third prizes or medals at Olympic competitions, excellent students at national and international levels.

Spreading the spirit of "Rubber Love"

After 13 years of operation, the October 28 Scholarship Fund has mobilized more than 37 billion VND, plus 7 billion VND in bank interest, bringing the total fund to 42 billion VND. To date, more than 22.5 billion VND has been spent on education promotion; the remaining amount continues to be maintained to nurture future programs.

This year, the reward level remains stable: 5 million VND for students passing university entrance exams with 26 points or more, students winning national or international prizes, or students who overcome difficulties to study well; 2 million VND for full-time students with excellent grades.

Representing the honored students, Truong Nguyen Hoang Anh - the child of an officer of Phu Rieng Rubber Company - emotionally shared: "The October 28 scholarship is not only a reward but also a great source of encouragement, helping us to be more confident in studying and training to become useful citizens, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese Rubber industry."

96 years of “Phu Rieng Do” – a journey of love and knowledge

In his closing speech, the representative of the Organizing Committee affirmed that the "October 28" scholarship program is an annual activity full of humanistic meaning, demonstrating the spirit of "Rubber Affection" - a traditional beauty cultivated over 96 years of formation and development.

The Organizing Committee also expressed its gratitude to the Group's leaders, sponsors and units who accompanied, supported and transported the children to the ceremony safely and thoughtfully, contributing to creating a solemn, warm and emotional ceremony.
