9 provinces want to develop industrial park models like in Binh Duong

This morning (March 25), Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and his delegation attended and witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between VSIP Group and leaders of 9 provinces across the country within the framework of the program " Binh Duong : Start - Connect - Develop".

Accordingly, the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park joint venture (VSIP Group - including Becamex IDC Corporation and Sembcorp Development LTD Group, Singapore) and the leaders of the 9 provinces of Binh Phuoc , Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Thua Thien - Hue, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh and Nam Dinh signed a memorandum of understanding to study and deploy industrial parks in these 9 localities.

This is a follow-up activity to the cooperation agreement between the two countries from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's visit to Singapore in early February 2023.

According to the memorandum of understanding, VSIP Group and the above localities will conduct feasibility studies for industrial parks, urban centers and services in the localities. Feasible projects will be signed cooperation agreements and granted investment registration certificates by the Government.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai highly appreciated the model of developing green industrial parks, linking industrial development with urban services, and synchronously deploying traffic infrastructure and social infrastructure of Binh Duong.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested that provinces study and learn from Binh Duong's approach, especially in site clearance for industrial parks, to avoid complicated complaints and lawsuits, and to harmonize the interests of businesses, the State and the people.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this is also the expectation of the Government and the Prime Minister for localities to seek new development momentum for the country, contributing to stabilizing the macro economy and enhancing international integration.

Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh said that the province will cooperate well with localities as well as accompany investors and businesses to promote projects to soon become reality and achieve efficiency.

In which, we will jointly research to convert from industrial parks associated with urban areas and services to smart urban service industrial parks, enhancing science and technology to achieve higher added value, bringing practical benefits to businesses and people.

Mr. Minh said that VSIP Industrial Park is a comprehensive development model, building a complex of industrial parks interwoven with the urban system, including full urban components, social housing and resettlement areas, green space, etc. on the basis of a systematic and synchronous transportation system, connecting the inner area, inter-district and inter-regional, along with a high-quality education and health care system, overcoming the limitations of developing industrial parks in the old style.
