"Daring" decisions and lessons from failures
Trinh My Anh was born in 2003 in Hanoi , currently a student at the University of Commerce. The 1.75m tall girl with measurements of 85-64-95cm has gone through 3 major competitions before becoming the 3rd runner-up of Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 and was chosen to represent Vietnam at Miss Earth 2025.

The greatest success that My Anh is proud of is not the title but the moment she dared to press the button to submit her application for the Miss Vietnam contest for the first time. At that time, she was very young, not outstanding, quite naive, had no team, no experience, and was even afraid of the spotlight, but she still decided to try because she did not want to live a youth of just standing and watching.
From Miss Vietnam 2022 to Miss Grand Vietnam 2024, My Anh experienced many disappointing moments.
The most memorable moment in My Anh's beauty pageant journey was when she walked off the Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 stage in an evening gown but was not in the Top 10. "I looked at the audience, saw everyone cheering for the other girls, and I was both smiling and holding back tears," she shared with VietNamNet.
Instead of feeling defeated, My Anh felt empty because she realized she had placed too much hope on the title without understanding what she wanted. That moment helped her realize that competing was not about winning against others but about being true to herself.
If there was a title of "Contestant with the most broken high heels", My Anh would definitely be a strong candidate.
"At Miss Vietnam, I broke 3 pairs of shoes because I practiced too hard in the ensemble, catwalk, and dance. Miss Grand Vietnam was lighter, only broke 1 pair and broke another pair of laces. At Miss Earth Vietnam, I wore a pair of brand new shoes and they broke after 3 uses," My Anh humorously said.
Or like her talent performance at Miss Grand Vietnam 2024, she went off-key right from the first verse, then forgot the lyrics at the climax and had to change the lyrics on stage when she sang it again. But it was from those "wrong" moments that she learned how to prepare carefully and understand the criteria for each competition.

Old shoes given to a child in the highlands and a lesson about sincerity
My Anh is not good at hiding her emotions - happy and smiling, sad and silent - and once thought that was her weakness. During a volunteer trip in the highlands, she gave a little girl her old shoes. Instead of wearing the shoes, the girl hugged the shoes to her chest like a precious gift. That moment made My Anh realize that even if she is not the best or the most outstanding person, as long as she is sincere, what she does will touch others.
After being "out of the top" in previous competitions, when My Anh came home tired, her family did not blame or encourage her but prepared a hot meal and her grandmother asked briefly: "Are you tired, dear?". That gentle silence became a lasting source of strength for her.
Experiences in charity projects and community activities also helped My Anh change her perspective on herself. Hearing about environmental projects and participating in volunteer activities, she realized that beauty can attract attention, but compassion and action are what people remember.
My Anh's greatest strength lies not in her titles or competition experience, but in her maturity through each competition. She learned how to listen, practiced the necessary skills, and most importantly, dared to be true to herself.

Sacrificed love to pursue the dream of becoming a beauty queen
With only a few months to prepare for Miss Earth 2025, My Anh is not aiming to be "the perfect version" but "the best version". She is focusing on improving her English, stage communication skills and expanding her perspective on the environment on a global scale.
Vietnam once had Phuong Khanh crowned Miss Earth 2018, but My Anh did not consider it a pressure but a motivation. She did not want to follow in the footsteps of those who came before her, but wanted to become a My Anh who carved a name for Vietnam in her own way. The biggest challenge when facing international contestants like My Anh is not skill but courage.
My Anh admires Pia Wurtzbach for the way she overcame the dramatic moment of being crowned Miss Universe 2015 and continued to develop herself afterwards. To My Anh, an inspirational beauty queen is not just someone who shines for 10 seconds on stage but can maintain her value for many years after.
Regarding love, My Anh is currently focusing on international competitions and wants to keep things private for herself. "I believe that love, if it exists, should be something behind the spotlight. I don't need to go public to prove anything," she shared with VietNamNet.
She had a relationship during her college years before joining Miss Vietnam 2022. When they started focusing on the competition, the two constantly argued because they had almost no time for each other like before. My Anh tried to balance it but the more she tried, the more tired she felt.
Regarding her ideal love model, she shared that love to her is simple, "just needing someone to always be there, to gently stay by her side, listen and trust her when she is tired or wants to give up".
My Anh answered the interview in English:
