Commenting on this final, German tennis legend Boris Becker shared on TNT Sports: “The result was devastating for Sinner but he should be absolutely proud of himself. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have also experienced matches like this, when only luck helped them win the title.

For me, Alcaraz and Sinner are on par with three legendary players. I feel sorry for them, because it would be a shame for anyone to lose. They put on a show that shows why we love tennis.”

The match between Alcaraz and Sinner was the longest final in Roland Garros history and the second longest in Grand Slam final history, behind only the 5 hour 53 minute match between Djokovic and Nadal at the 2012 Australian Open.

Spanish tennis legend Alex Corretja commented: “Only a miracle helped Alcaraz win. Thanks to both players, this was the best match I have ever seen live on the court. Their level of tennis was unbelievable.”

Roger Federer shared on his personal page: "Three winners in Paris on the evening of June 8: Alcaraz, Sinner and the beautiful sport of tennis. What a great match."

Rafael Nadal could not hide his admiration for the two players: “What a great Roland Garros final! Congratulations to Alcaraz! Also congratulations to Sinner for a great match.”
