The Department of Education and Training of Vinh Phuc assigned the target for Vinh Phuc Specialized High School to enroll 525 students into grade 10 for 15 specialized classes, each specialized class has 35 students.
The new thing for the next school year is that for the first time the school has an additional Japanese language class, in addition to 2 math classes, 2 IT classes, 2 literature classes, 2 English classes; the physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, and French majors have 1 specialized class.
According to statistics from Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, as of 3:00 p.m. on May 20, the school received 1,462 applications for admission (Illustration: Hai Long).
In the top 10 candidates with the highest total entrance scores, there are 4 students from Vinh Yen Secondary School, 2 students from Yen Lac Secondary School, 2 students from Vinh Tuong Secondary School, 1 student from Ly Tu Trong Secondary School and 1 student from Phuc Yen Secondary School.
In addition, the list of valedictorians in specialized subjects shows that Vinh Yen Secondary School has 5 valedictorians in specialized subject exams (including math, chemistry, geography, biology, French), Yen Lac Secondary School has 4 valedictorians in specialized subjects (including English, IT, Japanese, history); the secondary schools with 1 valedictorian in specialized subjects are Ly Tu Trong (specialized physics exam), Lien Bao (specialized literature exam) and Phuc Yen (math exam for specialized IT class).
Admission scores to specialized classes of Vinh Phuc Specialized High School are calculated according to the formula of total score of 3 general subject exams (including math, literature, English) with coefficient 1 and score of specialized subject exam with coefficient 3.
The next steps are being carried out by the Admissions Council of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted according to regulations. The admission process for successful candidates is expected to take place at 7:00 a.m. on June 21.

The score distribution of the literature exam (general exam, coefficient 1) is mainly concentrated at 7.5-8.5 points, reflecting the even ability of the candidates.
The average score of the math test (general subject, coefficient 1) is mainly concentrated at 7-9 points, showing the even learning quality of the candidates.
The average score of the English test (general subject, coefficient 1) is mainly around 8-10 points, showing that students have a good foreign language foundation.
The score distribution of the specialized subject exam (coefficient 3) has a wide range of scores, spread across many scales, showing a very high level of differentiation in scores, reflecting the difference in ability in the specialized subject exam between candidates. This is common, because the specialized subject exam is inherently difficult to have strong classification.
The total score of the four exams of the candidates mainly ranges from 30 to 45 points, showing that the majority of candidates have average or above average results. The number of candidates with too low or too high scores accounts for a low percentage, showing that the majority of candidates have "measured their own strength" before registering for the specialized school entrance exam.
According to information from the Vinh Phuc Departmentof Education and Training, to facilitate and reduce pressure for students taking the 10th grade entrance exam in the 2025-2026 school year, the province increased the enrollment target for public high schools by about 10%, from 66% (in 2024) to 75%.
The whole province has about 19,100 students taking the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year. The enrollment target for public high schools will be about 14,400 students.
