Many practical and far-reaching activities were implemented by TKV trade unions at all levels this May. Right from the beginning of May, TKV Trade Union issued a plan to direct the organization of activities during Workers' Month.
Notably, the organization of dialogues between employers and employees at units aims to promote grassroots democracy, grasp thoughts and aspirations and promptly resolve difficulties. Trade unions at all levels also visit and encourage production teams, exemplary workers, and workers in difficulty; implement programs such as "Union Meals", "Union Shelter", periodic health check-ups, nursing for workers with declining health, organize competitions for excellent safety and hygiene workers, sports , cultural and artistic activities in collective housing areas, worker apartments, etc.
Mr. Le Thanh Xuan, Chairman of TKV Trade Union, said: “This year’s Workers’ Month is not only an occasion to show gratitude and honor workers, but also an opportunity for trade unions at all levels to directly accompany, support, and improve working conditions and living conditions for workers. Each activity is aimed at the satisfaction and happiness of workers.”
Caring from the simplest things, many meaningful and humane activities have been carried out by the units. At Ha Tu Coal Joint Stock Company, a series of activities in response to Workers' Month took place enthusiastically. The company's union visited and presented gifts to 65 excellent workers and 50 workers in difficult circumstances, with a total cost of more than 170 million VND. In addition, the Company also focused on improving working conditions such as adding heat-resistant equipment, improving the quality of shift meals - small actions but showing practical concern, received with emotion by the workers.
At Thong Nhat Coal Company, the “Union Meal” activity brought warm moments to more than 3,200 workers. Each meal was supported by the union with an additional 100,000 VND, not only increasing the nutritional value but also containing the sharing from the union organization. Mr. Cu A Chong, a worker at Mining Workshop 7, emotionally said: “After hours of working underground, eating a hot meal prepared by the Union, we feel truly cared for. This is a great source of encouragement, giving us more strength to continue to contribute.”
At Environment Company - TKV and Cua Ong Coal Selection and many other units , dialogue conferences between leaders and workers were organized openly and frankly. Workers were able to express their thoughts and make direct recommendations about working conditions, occupational safety and health, welfare policies, etc. Many opinions were answered and resolved on the spot.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Chuong, Director of Cua Ong Coal Selection Company emphasized: "Dialogue not only helps leaders better understand practical difficulties, but also creates conditions for employees to participate in building a sustainable business."
Another highlight is the “Union Shelter” program that supports the construction of houses for workers in difficult circumstances. The case of Mr. Hang A Ky, a miner at the Mining Construction Company (TKV) is a testament to this. He received more than 100 million VND in support to build a new, spacious house in his hometown of Dien Bien .
“The house is the dream of my whole family. Receiving the attention of the Union makes me feel respected and more motivated to excel in work and life,” Mr. Ky emotionally shared.
In many units such as Uong Bi Coal, Deo Nai - Coc Sau, Vang Danh, Mao Khe... activities to visit sick workers, workers who have had work accidents, organize propaganda on occupational safety and health, and reward outstanding collectives and individuals have also been implemented synchronously. These acts have contributed to tightening harmonious labor relations and strengthening trust in the role of the Trade Union.
Workers’ Month 2025 has come to an end, but the values it left behind will continue to spread. Meaningful meals, shared gifts, frank dialogues, cultural and sports activities… all aim at a single goal: Workers are better cared for, safer and happier. That is the spirit that TKV Trade Union is constantly cultivating to create a united, cohesive and sustainable collective.
