Accordingly, experts from Nevers Hospital, Lyon University Center, will join doctors and nurses from Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital to examine, screen and treat difficult to very difficult cases of Cardiovascular - Thoracic diseases.
Specifically, experts will directly transfer and guide techniques for treating coronary artery cases with calcification, torsion, CTO, coronary artery occlusion; guide surgery and intervention in extracranial arteries, thoracic surgery, mediastinal surgery, varicose veins, guide surgery and intervention in peripheral vessels... These are all specialized and complex techniques, requiring both professional qualifications and skills of doctors and physicians as well as a modern, synchronous equipment system.
Since the official establishment of cooperation in 2017, Nevers Hospital has supported the training of over 660 medical staff of Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, through 07 specialized training programs, 04 doctors were sent to study directly in the Republic of France. Thanks to that, many advanced and high-tech techniques have been mastered right at the unit.
Currently, Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital is also one of two units with the capacity to perform organ transplants in Quang Ninh . The unit also plans to continue investing in specialized medical development, including expanding organ transplants.
Dr. Tran Anh Cuong, Director of Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, said: The hospital will continue to promote international professional cooperation, access advanced and specialized techniques today, especially in the fields of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, and orientate to transplant other organs after the kidney, continuously improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, and best serve patients.
It is expected that on this occasion, about 34 patients will receive in-depth examinations, and 20 cardiovascular and thoracic interventions and surgeries will be jointly implemented.
