First time exporting frozen durian to China through Bac Luan II border gate

The first shipment of 22 tons of frozen durian of Vina M & B Export and Trading Company Limited ( Hanoi ) has been officially and successfully exported through Bac Luan II border gate, belonging to the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dong Hung (China) border gate pair. The importing partner of this shipment is Shanghai Xinronghe International Trade Company headquartered in Shanghai (China).

These 22 tons of frozen durian are strictly controlled from the origin of raw materials, production process to ensure food safety, each batch of finished products is checked, ensuring compliance with the conditions of the signed protocol.

This is the first frozen shipment from Vietnam to be successfully exported to the Chinese market after Vietnam and China signed an import-export protocol in August 2024. Frozen durian is considered a new opportunity for Vietnam's "billion-dollar" fruit, especially in the context of fresh durian exports facing many difficulties.

To continue exporting more of this product to the Chinese market, Vina M & B Export and Trading Company Limited will continue to improve deep processing technology such as nitrogen freezing, segment freezing, freeze drying... to increase export value instead of just exporting raw products. At the same time, for processed products, the Enterprise will comply with food hygiene and safety conditions according to HACCP standards, manage input materials to trace the origin of the shipment. In the future, Vina M & B will focus on production, control, and evaluate the entire process for export.

According to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, the Vietnamese fruit and vegetable industry aims to export $8 billion in 2025 with fresh and frozen durian as the main driver.

Every year, the Chinese market imports about 7 billion USD of fresh durian, a figure expected to exceed 10 billion USD in a short time. In addition, the country of 1.4 billion people currently spends up to 1 billion USD on importing frozen durian. Therefore, Vietnam's durian export target in 2025 is 3.5 billion USD.
