According to a VNA correspondent in France, at noon on October 5, within the framework of activities on the sidelines of the 19th Francophone Summit taking place in Paris (France), a unique and special traditional music program and the experience of printing Dong Ho paintings by the Vietnamese delegation at the Francophone Village attracted a large number of fans, helping the image of Vietnam shine in the Community of French-speaking countries.

The Quan Ho tune "Inviting water, inviting betel", folk songs from three regions, and the Van singing melodies blend with folk dances imbued with the colors of the Mother Goddess religion, along with the deep and high sounds of the monochord, the clear sound of the bamboo flute, the rich sound of the zither... all create a unique art program with the theme "Thang Long Hoi Thu" that received endless applause from the audience.

In the Vietnamese exhibition, visitors, from young to old, were engrossed in the printing of Dong Ho paintings, a famous folk art that Vietnam is proposing to the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to include in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding. It can be said that Vietnamese traditional music and art had the opportunity to shine at the Francophone Village.

Speaking to VNA reporters in France, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature, in charge of the Vietnam booth at the Francophone Village, said that the booth, which is managed by Hanoi City, aims to introduce and promote the people and country of Vietnam to friends in the Francophone community. The program is divided into two parts, including displaying images and artifacts about the country and people of Vietnam and performing arts with the theme "Thang Long Hoi Thu".

The booth was decorated with large-scale photos introducing Vietnam’s UNESCO-recognized heritages, including tangible and intangible heritages, documents, biosphere reserves and geoparks. In addition, some of the creative quintessence of Thang Long - Hanoi craft villages were also promoted, in which the art of printing Dong Ho folk paintings was especially popular with visitors.

According to Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, in the past few days, the spread of Vietnamese cultural values ​​has been warmly welcomed through the number of visitors to the Vietnamese booth, including the presence of the Prime Minister of Luxembourg and a number of ministers from other countries. In particular, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and a number of official members of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation attending the 19th Francophone Summit also visited the Francophone Village and the Vietnamese booth.

Mr. Le Xuan Kieu said that most of the international guests were interested and admired Vietnam for its heritage and performing arts. In addition, many overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students also visited the booth and were very moved when seeing the familiar images of Vietnam at the Francophone Village.

Having the opportunity to experience the art of printing Dong Ho paintings on Do paper, two young girls from Kosovo, Daniela Dushi and Merigona Vojvoda, said that they came to the Vietnam booth first of all because they love this country, and secondly because they were very impressed with traditional Vietnamese folk paintings.

Ms. Dushi expressed: "The fact that traditional natural materials such as Do paper, wooden molds and the talent of artisans are passed down from generation to generation makes us very admiring. For us young people, preserving traditions is very important because it is the history of the nation."

Not only Dong Ho paintings but also folk songs and the unique monochord are admired by French-speaking audiences. Mr. Pierrick Hamon, a French audience, said: "I am very happy to hear Vietnamese music again. I often come to this country in cooperation programs between the localities of Côtes-d'Armor and Nghe An, Ha Tinh. Just yesterday, I met the Chairman of Hue City and also enjoyed your music. It can be said that Vietnamese songs and dances are very beautiful and charming and I am very happy to see the wonderful performance of Vietnamese artists today".

Expressing his desire to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam within the Francophone framework, Mr. Jean-Claude Mairal from the "I-Dialogos Think tank" organization is particularly interested in the Vietnamese press, including Le Courrier du Vietnam, the only French-language magazine in the country. Mr. Mairal emphasized: "For us, being here and interacting with Vietnamese partners is very important". President of the "Planète Jeunes Reporter" Association Frédéric Prulhiere wants to invite young Vietnamese reporters to attend the "Short Report Festival" organized by this association in the city of Vichy to provide opportunities for young Francophone journalists to express themselves.

Taking place from October 2-6 at the Centquatre-Paris Public Cultural Center within the framework of the 19th Francophone Summit, the Francophone Village is a place to exchange and explore cultures in the community of French-speaking countries. With more than 60 booths, the event attracts the participation of dozens of French-speaking countries from all over the world, participating in exchanges and exploring cultural diversity through activities and performances highlighting the creativity and art of living of 5 continents. More than 30 countries and regions around the world have gathered at the Francophone Village to meet, introduce their culture, initiatives and heritage. The booths are also open to the public to exchange and explore the richness of many multidisciplinary programs combining theater, concerts, live experiences, art, digital, photography, cinema, dance or hip hop performances, inspiring meetings...

Each country has a booth with its own characteristics, but the convergence of 60 countries and organizations here has brought the Francophone Village a cultural diversity that no other place has. And in that diversity, Vietnam also brings to the public a unique "party" with all kinds of sounds, images, colors and interesting experiences, leaving unforgettable emotions in the hearts of visitors.
