Reporting on the results of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in An Giang province in 2025, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc said: Up to now, An Giang province has completed 100% of the target of building and repairing houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution and poor and near-poor households in the province (3,135/3,135 houses). Of which, there are 464 houses for people with meritorious services and 2,671 houses for poor and near-poor households (601 poor and near-poor households under national target programs and 2,070 poor and near-poor households under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses), with a total implementation cost of over 207.2 billion VND (including from the state budget, socialized funds and family contributions).

In addition, the steering committees at all levels supported the construction and repair of 225 houses for other disadvantaged households with a budget of over VND 11,206 million from socialized sources and mobilized about 15,297 working days. The province basically completed the target 2 months earlier than the Government 's regulations.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Provincial Steering Committee, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in An Giang province, Le Hong Quang acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility of localities, sectors, levels, armed forces, enterprises, philanthropists, and people who have accompanied and contributed to the success of the program; adding strength and confidence to thousands of families on the journey to settle down, escape poverty sustainably and rise up in life.

“The success of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province is not only in specific numbers but also demonstrates the proactive, positive, creative, and flexible implementation of the Party Committees, authorities at all levels, departments, branches, localities, philanthropists, and benefactors to help people "settle down and make a living", gradually rising out of poverty sustainably with the viewpoint: "If you say you will do it, if you commit, you must do it, if you do it, you must have specific results". Determining that it is not just about "finishing early", not just a peak period, but also a persistent process to ensure "everyone has a stable and safe place to live, no one is left behind, which is a condition for settling down, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development", in the coming time, An Giang province will continue to review and update the list of households with housing difficulties to have timely and effective support solutions.

To carry out this important task, An Giang Provincial Party Secretary Le Hong Quang requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, and the Fatherland Front to continue to propagate, create social consensus, join hands, and care for the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially those with revolutionary contributions, the poor, the disadvantaged, and those in difficult circumstances, so that no one is left behind. Along with that, synchronously and effectively implement preferential policies for those with revolutionary contributions; and sustainable poverty reduction policies.

For households that have received support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, it is recommended that local authorities regularly propagate to raise awareness, arouse self-reliance, support jobs, loans, etc., so that people can develop the economy, stabilize their lives, and escape poverty.
