On the afternoon of June 24, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoai Son district held a meeting to express gratitude to district leaders of all periods and launch the Thoai Son Charity Fund. Delegates attending the gratitude meeting

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the glorious historical tradition and proud achievements of Thoai Son district over 46 years of formation and development.

After the country's reunification, Thoai Son was a district with a low starting point, in An Giang province. But with political determination, inheriting the tradition of reclaiming and opening up new lands of our ancestors and previous generations, the Party Committee, Government and People of Thoai Son district through the periods, have united, made creative efforts, dared to think, dared to do, and established proud achievements, with historical milestones in all fields of economy, culture and social security.

In 2018, Thoai Son district successfully completed the National Target Program on New Rural Construction early and by 2024 was honored to receive the Certificate of recognition as an advanced new rural district in 2023. At the same time, it was also the first district in the country to be awarded three titles: Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor in the renovation period and district meeting new rural standards.

Notably, recently,the President awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Thoai Son district for their outstanding achievements in building new rural areas.

Sharing at the meeting, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung expected that the Party Committees of the 6 new communes after the merger of administrative units in the area would always preserve and promote the traditions of Thoai Son district; continue to preserve and promote the historical and cultural values of Thoai Ngoc Hau communal house, Thoai Son district martyrs' stele; pay attention to taking good care of policy families, retired cadres; maintain the activities of the Charity Shelter Association...

On behalf of the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoai Son district, Secretary of Thoai Son District Party Committee Thai Minh Hien expressed deep gratitude to former leaders, delegates, businesses, philanthropists and the entire team of cadres, party members and people who have contributed to building a radiant and proud Thoai Son as it is today.

On this occasion, the Management Board of each type of fund agreed to consolidate 31 funds of the district and launched the Thoai Son Charity Fund, with comrade Le Van Nung as Honorary Chairman of the Fund Management Board. At the same time, the Scholarship and Talent Promotion Fund of Nguyen Khuyen High School, Vinh Trach High School, Nguyen Van Thoai High School and Vong The High School was launched.
