Thoai Son held a meeting to pay tribute to district leaders through the ages.

On the afternoon of June 24, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thoai Son district held a meeting to express gratitude to district leaders of all periods and launch the Thoai Son Charity Fund. Former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung; former district leaders of all periods; businesses and philanthropists inside and outside the district attended.

At the gathering, delegates reviewed the glorious historical traditions and proud achievements of Thoai Son district over its 46 years of formation and development.

After the reunification of the country, Thoai Son district in An Giang province started from a low baseline. However, with political determination, inheriting the tradition of land reclamation and expansion from their ancestors and previous generations, the Party Committee, Government, and people of Thoai Son district, through various periods, have united, strived creatively, dared to think and act, and achieved proud accomplishments, leaving historical marks in all fields of economy, culture, and social welfare.

In 2018, Thoai Son district excellently completed the National Target Program for building new rural areas ahead of schedule, and in 2023, it was honored to receive the Certificate recognizing it as an advanced new rural district. At the same time, it was also the first district in the country to be awarded three titles: Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period, and a district meeting the standards of a new rural area.

Most recently, the President of Vietnam awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government, and people of Thoai Son district for their outstanding achievements in building new rural areas.

Former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of An Giang , Le Van Nung, shared his thoughts at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council, Le Van Nung, expressed his hope that the Party committees of the six newly merged communes would always preserve and promote the traditions of Thoai Son district; continue to preserve and promote the historical and cultural values of Thoai Ngoc Hau Temple and the Thoai Son District Martyrs' Memorial; pay attention to and take good care of policy beneficiary families and retired officials; and maintain the activities of the "Shelter of Love" Association...

On behalf of the Thoai Son District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Secretary of the Thoai Son District Party Committee, Thai Minh Hien, expressed profound gratitude to the former leaders, distinguished guests, businesses, philanthropists, and all cadres, Party members, and people who have contributed to building a radiant and proud Thoai Son as it is today.

On this occasion, the Management Boards of each type of fund unanimously merged 31 funds of the district and launched the Thoai Son Charitable Fund, with Comrade Le Van Nung as the Honorary Chairman of the Fund Management Board. At the same time, they launched the Scholarship and Talent Promotion Funds of Nguyen Khuyen High School, Vinh Trach High School, Nguyen Van Thoai High School, and Vong The High School.
