Security tightened at the trial of Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang and accomplices

On the morning of September 21, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City opened the first instance trial of Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang (General Director of Dai Nam Joint Stock Company) and 4 accomplices for the crime of "Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the rights and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals". The public has always been interested in this case, so from early morning, many people flocked to the headquarters of the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City to follow the trial.

At around 6am, a car took Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang to court. Ms. Hang wore a white shirt and looked quite calm.

At 8am, singer Dam Vinh Hung and Vy Oanh appeared and completed the procedures to attend the trial. Reporters were arranged in a separate room and worked through the screen.

Many police forces monitored the gate area and in front of the courtroom, only those with summonses were allowed to enter.

Many curious people came to watch outside the court session.

Of the 12 people with related rights and obligations, only singer Dam Vinh Hung, singer Vy Oanh, Ms. Truong Thi Viet Ha, and Ms. Dang Thi Han Ni were present in court. The rest authorized lawyers or submitted requests for trial in absentia.

At nearly 8:00 a.m., Mr. Huynh Minh Hung (aka singer Dam Vinh Hung) entered the security check area to attend the trial of Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang and her accomplices.

From early morning, a large crowd of people came to the front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court and stood in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy on the opposite side.

A large number of police forces appeared early in the morning to regulate traffic in the area and ensure security and order.

Before the trial, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City issued a notice advising against large gatherings in front of the headquarters during the trial days of the case of Nguyen Phuong Hang and accomplices.
