(NLDO)- Binh Thuy Primary School in Can Tho City has had students win high prizes in the international Robothon competition for two consecutive years.


On November 27, the Departmentof Education and Training of Can Tho City announced that the city had 51 students participating in the 2024 international robothon competition, which took place from November 22 to 25 in Thailand. The Can Tho City team won 1 first prize, 5 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes.

Ms. Trinh Thi Nhung, Principal of Binh Thuy Primary School, said that this is the second consecutive year that the school has had many students winning high prizes. The school has 9 students divided into 5 teams, of which 1 team won first prize and encouragement prize in the intermediate category. They are Truong Nguyen Tri and Nguyen Pham Lam Phong (class 5A2, both won first prize), and Nguyen Minh Khang (class 3A1, won encouragement prize).

"This year's competition is more difficult than previous years with many tasks, and there is not much time to prepare for the international competition. However, with their best efforts, the students have achieved high results for the Can Tho team" - Ms. Nhung informed.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Truc Linh, the instructor of the competing teams, the theme of this year's competition is "Digital Nexus - Industrial Revolution 5.0" with the specific task of setting up data attached to blockchain, quantum encryption and activating AI...

Truong Nguyen Tri and Nguyen Pham Lam Phong won first prize in the intermediate category at the 2024 International Robothon competition.

"In previous years, students only had to run the robot and perform 1-2 random tasks at the end. This year, it is more difficult because in addition to programming the robot to run, students also have to install an AI model using electrical circuits and have up to 3 random tasks," said Ms. Linh.

This year's competition was very difficult but Can Tho students still achieved high results.

Truong Nguyen Tri confided: "This year, I see that the opponents are very strong, with their own strategies, but they are very united. Through the competition, I feel more confident and can exchange and learn about Robothon with students from other countries.

This is the second consecutive year that Binh Thuy Primary School has had students win high prizes at the international robothon competition.

In the 2023 international robothon competition, Binh Thuy Primary School had 8 students competing and winning the championship, first prize, second prize and third prize.

The 2024 international robothon competition has the participation of 142 teams with hundreds of contestants aged 8-18 from 5 countries: Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

The Vietnamese team has made an excellent impression with many important awards in the Leanbot competition category. The Vietnamese team has achieved impressive results with 19 awards, including: 1 championship in the primary category (by students of Le Ngoc Han Primary School, City HCM); 1 first prize in the intermediate category (of students from Binh Thuy Primary School, City) Can Tho); 10 third prizes and 7 consolation prizes .
