Many acts of learning from Uncle Ho towards the People

The study of President Ho Chi Minh's political line, style and revolutionary ethics was first launched at the 2nd Party Congress (February 1951), with the call: "The entire Party should strive to study President Ho's political line, style and revolutionary ethics"; "That study is the prerequisite to make the Party strong and make the revolution move quickly to complete victory". On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1960), on behalf of the Party, comrade Truong Chinh affirmed: "On this occasion, let us review President Ho's biography and career, learn and study his ideology, morality and style to better serve the people". Nine years later, in the eulogy for President Ho Chi Minh, the Party Central Committee issued an appeal: "Farewell to him, we vow: To study his morality and style for the rest of our lives...".

Also in that historic September, the Central Party Politburo issued a Directive on the political activity “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s testament”. The slogan for action: “Live, fight, work and study following the example of great Uncle Ho!” created a strong motivation and great appeal to our cadres, soldiers and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country. On November 7, 2006, the Politburo (tenure X) issued Directive 06-CT/TW on organizing the Campaign “Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh ”, the implementation period was linked to the term of the 10th Party Congress. After 5 years, on May 14, 2011, the Politburo (tenure XI) issued Directive 03-CT/TW on “Continuing to promote studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh”. At this time, studying and following Uncle Ho is no longer a "campaign", but has become a regular action of the Party organization, associated with the action program to implement the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress, solving ideological and ethical issues.

Compared with previous "senior directives", Directive 05-CT/TW is assessed as: More strategic in role, position, and significance; higher in requirements; broader in content; deeper in content; tighter and more drastic in organization and implementation; newer in approach and longer in time. That is the basis for Directive 05-CT/TW to become a lever, creating a strong motivation for each organization and individual to strive and make continuous efforts with the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Through political activities, cadres, party members, and people are increasingly imbued with the basic contents of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style; improving political mettle, steadfast in revolutionary ideals and goals; ready to "live to give, not just receive for oneself". Many typical and advanced collectives and individuals have good and creative ways of doing things, bringing practical results, and have been recognized and commended by all levels.

Currently, Party organizations nationwide are simultaneously summarizing 10 years of implementing Directive 05-CT/TW, in order to evaluate the results achieved and limitations in the past time; propose directions, tasks, and solutions to continue effectively implementing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in the coming time, making this content a voluntary and regular task of each cadre, party member, and each Party organization in the new situation. Continue to affirm the position, role, and importance of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in the work of Party building and rectification, political, ideological, and moraleducation for cadres, party members, people of all walks of life, and the whole society; create a solid foundation for building a socialist Vietnam, developing strongly in the new era - the era of national development.

The summary is even more meaningful when it takes place on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2. In particular, this is also the time when the "general uprising" to arrange and merge administrative units at all levels is about to take place. Looking back at what has been done, what is still troubling after decades of studying and following Uncle Ho, each party organization and party member continues to gather motivation, trust, and overcome the difficult and challenging journey ahead. Certainly, the ideology, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh will forever be an extremely great and valuable spiritual asset of our Party and people, guiding the revolutionary cause of our people to victory, in any period and circumstance!
