Tropical depression moves deep into Central Laos

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of August 26, the tropical depression (weakened from storm No. 5) moved deep into Central Laos.

At 7:00 a.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 18.9 degrees North latitude; 103.9 degrees East longitude, in the Central Laos region. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8; moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 20 km/h.

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move in the West Northwest direction, gradually weakening into a low pressure area and dissipating.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that heavy rains in the Northern Delta and midland areas, Son La, Lao Cai , Thanh Hoa and Nghe An; strong winds and high waves in the Gulf of Tonkin will continue. It is necessary to pay attention to heavy rain forecasts and dangerous weather at sea./.
