Apple considers 'eliminating' USB-C port on iPhone 17 Air

According to Bloomberg, Apple is planning a special version of the iPhone called the iPhone 17 Air, expected to launch in 2025. This phone promises to bring many breakthroughs in design and features, while also containing notable changes in the USB-C connection port.

Consider removing the USB-C charging port to achieve impressive thinness

According to Bloomberg technology writer Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17 Air is said to have a design that is only 5.5 mm thick, significantly thinner than previous generations of iPhone. To achieve this thinness, Apple is said to have had to redesign internal components such as the battery, screen, and processor chip.

In terms of features, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to inherit many high-end features from the iPhone 16 Pro line, including ProMotion technology and Camera Control. However, in exchange for the ultra-thin design, the device will have some limitations such as only having one rear camera and one speaker.

One of the most notable pieces of information about the iPhone 17 Air is that Apple considered removing the USB-C charging port entirely, making it the first 'portless' iPhone in history. Instead, the device would only support wireless charging. However, Apple ultimately decided to keep the USB-C port, possibly due to legal regulations in Europe.

The iPhone 17 Air will also be equipped with the C1 chip, the first 5G modem developed by Apple. This chip promises to bring superior performance and high-speed 5G connectivity.

Despite the ultra-thin design, Apple still aims to ensure impressive battery life for the iPhone 17 Air. The company has worked hard to optimize hardware and software to achieve the best energy efficiency.

Overall, the iPhone 17 Air promises to be a breakthrough for Apple in design and technology. With an ultra-thin design, high-end features and powerful performance, this could be the most anticipated iPhone in 2025.
