Apple Pay officially available in Vietnam

Today, August 8, Apple Pay payment method is officially available in Vietnam and since early morning, many people have shared this service on social networks, cardholders of some banks have started to experience this new cashless payment channel.

Users have linked their bank cards to Apple Pay

To use it, users need to double-tap and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment terminal to make a contactless payment. According to the banks, each Apple Pay transaction is secure because it is authenticated using Face ID, Touch ID or the device's passcode, along with a dynamic one-time security code.

Apple Pay has linked with a number of banks such as Vietcombank, Techcombank, MB, ACB , VPBank and Sacombank...

Apple also said that Apple Pay can be used at many large stores and supermarkets in Vietnam such as Dien May Xanh, Long Chau Pharmacy, Lotte Mart, Cellphones, Watsons, Viettel Store... and this payment method can also be used on applications such as Baemin, Be, Hasaki, mytour.vn, Shopee.

According to Apple, Apple Pay requires an iPhone 6 or later running iOS 12.5.2 or later. Available on Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 9 or later. Apple Watch must be paired with an iPhone 8 or later.
