Ba Ria - Vung Tau will have 1,200 more social housing apartments

On October 30, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province coordinated with a joint stock company to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of a social housing area in Suoi Nghe commune, Chau Duc district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

The total land area of ​​the housing area is about 40.5 hectares, of which the land area used for social housing construction is 48,531 square meters, accounting for 27.3% of the project's housing land fund. The housing area has a scale of 1,213 apartments.

Phase 1 of the project is built on a land area of ​​11,677m2, including 3 social housing blocks of 5 floors, 1 2-wheel parking lot (2 floors), 1-storey community house. The total construction area is 4,358m2, the construction floor area is 17,735m2.

The project consists of 210 apartments, each apartment area is 25m2-68m2 with full functions, meeting the needs of diverse customers.

The total investment in phase 1 is about 174 billion VND. It is expected that the project will complete the first 210 apartments and put into use by the end of 2024.

To date, the province has only completed 9 social housing projects with a scale of 6.1 hectares, including 1,551 apartments. This number has not met the actual demand.

The province has nearly 76,000 workers working in 15 industrial parks, including about 38,000 workers from outside the province. The number of workers in need of housing is currently about 4,600 people.

It is expected that by 2030, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will have 19 industrial parks in operation. The number of workers in need of housing is about 15,000 people.

The province has more than 72,000 low-income people and tens of thousands of other people in need of housing support.
