Bac Giang, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City: People-to-people diplomacy activities are bustling

On May 18, many people-to-people diplomacy activities took place across the country. In Bac Giang, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association celebrated its 26th anniversary, affirming the strong friendship between the two countries. Meanwhile, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City organized a visit to the Relic of Delegation 125, continuing to strengthen the solidarity and attachment between the people of the two countries.

Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province celebrates 26th anniversary of establishment

On the morning of May 18, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province (Association) held a meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Association, the Traditional Day of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association (May 23, 1950 - May 23, 2025) and the 26th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province (July 27, 1999 - July 27, 2025).

Here, the delegates reviewed the tradition of building and growing up of the Association. 75 years ago, nearly 4 months after Vietnam and the Soviet Union officially established diplomatic relations, the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Association was established on May 23, 1950. This was an important event marking a historical milestone in the friendly relations between the Vietnamese people and the Soviet people.

At the meeting, a discussion was held: "Deep memories of the former Soviet Union - the Russian Federation today". Delegates and members were moved to recall the time they lived, studied, worked, and did business in the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today with good feelings; affirming that the friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation will never fade.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Bac Giang province for its many achievements in contributing positively to foreign affairs; presented commemorative medals to individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work. The Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of the province presented admission decisions to new members.

Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City visited the Relic of Delegation 125

On May 18, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Dong Nai province and the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, together with Division 302, organized a visit to the Relic of Regiment 125 (Cam My district, Dong Nai province).

During the program, nearly 500 delegates, including veterans who participated in international duty in Cambodia and are living in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, officers and soldiers of Division 302 and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City, offered incense at the 125th Regiment Monument, which marks the founding of the 125th Regiment - the predecessor of the Royal Cambodian Army.

Here, delegates listened to Vietnamese veterans tell their memories of the years helping their country escape genocide; shared the feelings of Cambodian students towards the country and people of Vietnam...
