We met Mr. Vang Van Diu, Na Lo village, Bac Ha town, when he was bending down to pick each early ripe Ta Van plum. Mr. Diu smiled and said: "In Bac Ha, most families grow peach and plum trees, small families have a few trees, large families have hundreds of plum trees. These are crops that have both economic value and a unique indigenous culture. The Mong, Tay, and Nung people here have long been attached to plum trees as a part of their lives."

It is interesting to ride a motorbike on the road from the center of Bac Ha town through the communes of Na Hoi, Ban Pho, Hoang Thu Pho, the cold winds of the May morning rushing past your eyes. The golden rays of the morning sun pouring like honey on the Tam Hoa plum fields laden with fruit, just in time to taste… how pleasing to the eyes!

In Bac Ha, not only Tam Hoa plums are grown, many families also intercrop peaches, hairy apricots, and Ta Van plums. Ta Van plums are often chosen to be soaked in wine, syrup, or dried...

Traveling a long way to Bac Ha, many tourists enjoy the natural scenery of the mountains and forests, immersing themselves in the gardens of pink peaches, Ta Van plums, and Tam plums full of fruit. In the cool weather, capturing beautiful moments in the orchard, picking and enjoying fresh plums and peaches is a memorable experience for every tourist when coming to the "white plateau" in the summer.

Many tourists, especially young people, choose to come to Bac Ha during the fruit ripening season to experience "picking fruit with the locals", taking photos in the garden, participating in the highland market, enjoying rustic dishes such as men men, thang co, and suckling pig...

Not only Tam Hoa plum, Ta Van plum, but also Bac Ha peach, Tai-nung pear, and native green pear varieties grown in highland communes such as Lau Thi Ngai, Ta Cu Ty, and Lung Phinh also attract tourists to buy.
To have delicious fruit seasons, Bac Ha farmers not only rely on nature, but also need the support of technical staff, new farming models, applying science and VietGAP processes. Engineer Nguyen Manh Duong, Deputy Head of Bac Ha Fruit and Vegetable Research and Production Farm shared: "We regularly train and instruct people here on how to prune, process flowering, apply organic fertilizers, and prevent and control pests and diseases using biological methods. Thanks to that, the productivity and quality of fruit have been significantly improved, and the fruit gardens meet the standards to be sent to supermarket systems, provinces and cities across the country."

Nature has endowed the “white plateau” with a relatively diverse climate, especially a subtropical climate, which is favorable for growing many valuable fruit trees. Bac Ha district has formed a temperate fruit growing area with more than 1,300 hectares, mainly French peaches, Ta Van plums, Tam Hoa plums, Tai-nung pears, etc., with an annual fresh fruit harvest of 4,800 tons.

Not only cultivating temperate fruit trees, Bac Ha people have also gradually developed agriculture associated with tourism. Products from temperate fruit trees have become a part of the journey to explore the culture, people and nature of the "white plateau". When summer comes, Bac Ha welcomes visitors not with the noisy city, but with the gentleness of the land, the sky, the cool sweet fruits and the warm hearts of the highland people. Plump plums, rosy peaches, bright smiles... are "painting" a picture of a vibrant summer on the Bac Ha plateau.
