It is forecasted that in 2024, agricultural production will continue to face many difficulties such as: High prices of input materials for production; unpredictable weather; complex epidemics and diseases... In order for the district's cultivation to continue to affirm itself as the key production sector of the agricultural sector, playing an important role in ensuring food security, Bac Me district has assigned specific tasks to agencies, units, cadres and civil servants to clearly identify the task of increasing the value of crop products per unit of cultivated land area as a key task that needs to be effectively implemented; planning production areas, encouraging field renovation, creating a concentrated agricultural commodity production area, convenient for mechanization in production; strengthening management and organization of implementation of planning and land use plans approved by competent authorities in accordance with regulations, focusing on developing specialized areas and processing agricultural commodities; Actively review the area of rice fields without proactive water supply, the area of fertile land, and the area of fallow land that has not been cultivated since the beginning of the year to have a reasonable plan for crop conversion; invest in testing and trial production to identify new varieties with potential to add to the district's crop variety structure in the direction of improving productivity and quality.
Ms. Mai Thi Hoa, Na Han village, Yen Dinh commune, shared: In the 2024 Spring crop, my family planted more than 3,000 m2 of corn and about 3,000 m2 of rice. Right from the beginning of the crop, my family was informed and guided by professional staff on soil preparation procedures; using varieties suitable for local soil conditions; ways to prevent and control pests and diseases; balancing the use of fertilizers, especially organic fertilizers processed on site and fertilizers that improve the soil. Hopefully, this Spring crop, my family will be successful with post-harvest crop products.
Comrade Ly Hai Vinh, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, said: To increase the value of crop products per unit of cultivated land area, in addition to reviewing and planning land for the Agriculture sector, Bac Me district propagates and mobilizes people to use fertilizers with guaranteed quality and clear origin; fertilizes in a balanced and reasonable manner according to the principle of "right year" (right type of fertilizer, right time, right subject, right season, right fertilization method); care for crops according to the correct technical process, produce according to VietGAP standards to increase productivity, quality, food hygiene and safety, enhance product competitiveness and added value of crop products; rotate crops, arrange reasonable variety structure and time frame; reorganize production for people; regularly maintain and repair existing irrigation works to serve production; Joint ventures and associations with businesses create favorable conditions for businesses to invest in seeds, fertilizers, and product consumption, helping people feel secure in investing in production development.
With the participation of the entire political system, especially the consensus of the people, it is believed that in 2024, Bac Me district will strive to achieve grain output of over 34,000 tons; output of various vegetables and beans of over 7,332 tons; output of oilseed crops of over 2,354 tons; output of fresh tea buds of over 1,455 tons. Thereby contributing to the completion of the targets and tasks set forth by the Resolution of the 27th District Party Committee, term X in 2024.
